The Christening

The morning of the christening was chaotic. Stevie and Lindsey rushed around the house to get everything ready.

"I don't know where I put my dress..." she panicked around, Kristen was already at the venue with Will

"I'll help you look."

"Thank you!" He went through her bag trying to find a dress, only to find it hanging in the bathroom

"Babe, I found it!"

"Oh thank goodness! Thank you so much! I thought I'd left it behind"

"Do I get a kiss?" He smiled as he held the dress away until he received her kiss

She pecked him on the cheek and that was it, confusing him

"A proper kiss."

Eventually she approached him, giving him the kiss that he wanted, he felt her tears on his face

"Baby?"

"Don't call me that...please..." she cried

"What the matter?"

"Were over"

"What?"

"Were done...we have no future together..."

"Why not? I love you!"

"And I you! But Kristen loves you so much..."

"I love you so much!"

"Lindsey, she's going to ask you for another baby..." she struggled to breath

"W-what..."he plopped down on the bed

"She's going to ask you to start trying for another baby"

"I will not do that!"

"Why, she's your wife" Stevie shrugged

"I want you."

"She's going to be heartbroken...she'll kill me..." Stevie turned her back to him as she cried

"We'll figure something out."

"Linds, you've made it clear that you aren't ready for marriage and kids with me...I might go back to Don..."

"Don't say that..."

"Say what?"

"I want all of that with you..."

"Not yet though..."

"Exactly. I want to wait."

"I can't be your whore until you've decided you want just me...I heard you and Kristen last night..."

Lindsey abruptly turned and walked out

Stevie's shoulders slumped with hurt as she sat on the floor of the bathroom

The house phone rang minutes later

"Hello?" Stevie answered

"Stevie! You're late!" Kristen freaked

"What...?"

"The christening!"

"But I still have an hour...is Lindsey there?"

"You have fifteen minutes!"

"Put Lindsey on?!"

Kristen handed the phone to Lindsey, "Hello?"

"Linds, why didn't you come and tell me it was time to leave?

"Stevie, I'm really not in the mood to talk."
