Rose's POV
While Link was conversing with my sister, I managed to find the strength to get up and listen. I was happy he had obliged my request. Now my sister could finally be fully satisfied. In my dizziness, I recalled memories from the past. I had not set foot in the palace for over 8 years, yet the atmosphere of my old home felt the same. The appearance and decor were slightly different, faded even but I somehow felt as though I had never left in the first place. I sighed, feeling conflicted. I began to regret my decision of leaving my home for the Dark World. It's weird.
Did I make the right choice?
I shook my head, clearing my thoughts. No, I did the right thing and my sister is going to be happy right? She's going to be the happiest person ever, it'll be great.
I stared at the ceiling contemplating the situation. This was quite the dilemma. Oh well, I have no time to worry about this. I must announce myself to the people. I took a moment to freshen up and went back outside the palace, my cloak concealing my face. As I walked past the guarded gates, the stationed soldiers bowed. The villagers walking by were confused by the sight and immediately bowed at my feet.
I giggled, "There's no need to bow."
They straightened themselves and smiled, "Of course princess."
Author's POV
Whispers erupted amongst the villagers.
Princess? But Zelda's already queen, unless. . . No, it couldn't be. She's been gone for years.
People were chattering amongst themselves, trying to give each other hope.
One brave little boy came up to the strange figure. She kneeled down to his height smiled at him.
He took in her facial features before his eyes started tearing up. He suddenly hugged the girl only to cry out, "You came back, you really came back."
She smiled and wrapped her arms around his little figure.
"I wasn't going to leave for long Edward."
He smiled and dragged her to his mother who had been standing in front of the crowd.
"Mom, look who came back!"
She took off her hood, revealing her face to the villagers. They all gasped, stunned at what they saw. Their sweet flower had come back home at last. They all gathered in a circle around her, welcoming her back to Hyrule, while the kids all tried to get her attention. She only giggled, "I'm back and this time, I intend to stay."
They all cheered and dragged her towards a secluded part of the forest. They stopped at her special place, where she used to spend time with Lily. How they found it, she would never come to know.
Rose's POV
I tried to hold in tears when I saw what they did. There was a monument of me as a child in the middle of the small clearing with flowers and presents littered at its feet.
Eddy tugged at my dress, dragging me to the front of the stone monument. He pointed at a small white rose amongst the red ones.
"I left this one because I knew you were coming back".
I ruffled Edwards hair, "Thank you for believing little Eddy".
"Edward, come here for a moment."
We turned around and his mom was calling him over. He ran over to her and smiled, then ran back to me.
"Rose in honour of your return, the villagers want to throw a banquet," he said a bright smile gracing his face.
I was shocked and perplexed.
