Author's POV

The hero's shadow was now long gone and the sun had set with him. The murky sky was now clear, sparkling in its twilight beauty. Rose had stayed in the garden despite the cold. What the birds couldn't sing, the crickets did in turn. Floating lights danced around the lady who sat on a bench. She sang a song her guardian had taught her in the past.

Constant as the stars above

Always know that you are loved

And my love shining in you

Will help you make your dreams come true

Will help your dreams come true

"I miss you, Lily, I wish you would come back."

As she basked at the glory of the starry sky, the wind had brought her song to the ears of a sorrow-full prince. He turned his way and followed the sweet voice. He was back at the garden staring at the love of his life. She was there still seated on the bench, still gazing at the moon. The hero wanted to say something, to call out, but couldn't find the voice to do so. As he went to leave, she called.

"Link, why are you here?"

Link's POV

Her voice made me stop, luring me back like a siren's song. I walking back towards her not taking my gaze away from her cerulean crystal orbs. With every step, my heart slammed against my chest. My entire being felt controlled, in a daze as I made my way towards the flower. Even when I sat beside her, I still couldn't look away. Slowly I leaned it, my body being pulled without command towards her lips. My eyes closed before impact and my lips touched something soft. When I pulled away, it was not her lips that mined had kissed, but the palm of her hand.

Extremely flustered I pulled back, turning away. I couldn't believe what happened. I was so immensely blinded, that my own actions were not controlled. If she did not hate me before, she was bound to now. In my small moment of despair, warmth flew through me.

"Link"

"Yes," I responded with a shaky breath.

"I'm not mad if that's what you're thinking."

Relief washed over me.

Her arms left me and a force pulled me down. In a moment, my head laid against her lap.

"Rose"

She held my hat on her head and trailed her fingers through my golden locks. The pleasurable sensation ran shivers down my spine.

"Link, why did you come here?"

My cheeks flushed red when she asked. I didn't even really know the answer myself.

"Well, I heard you singing earlier and I guess it brought me here."

Now it was her turn to turn red.

"How embarrassing, no one has ever heard me sing before."

I smiled, she was so adorable without trying.

"There's no need to be embarrassed, you have a wonderful voice. Even the birds would be envious of your honey sweet songs."

Her face went crimson, her hands shielding her face from view. My hands held hers moving them away from her cherry cheeks.

"Please, would you sing for me?"

She debated having her voice heard once again but accepted nonetheless.

Her lips parted and her voice awakened the night.
