Author's POV

Over a week passed since our princess' encounter with her shadow. She had been training valiantly with the help of her night friend. And just like he proclaimed, not a moment he spent away from her side. From the casual walks through the garden, to the fun times with the villager, he was always there watching over her.

He had to because he could feel him. It wasn't long since he had stopped by, his frequent visits making him anxious. He had to prevent Rose from coming into contact with him again. But it was already too late for that. The princess knew about his multiplying stops by the castle. Given the reason, she let Tenebris follow her everywhere. She was scared for her safety as well as the wellbeing of the others. She told Link to be careful since he was close by. A similar warning was issued to the villagers.

It didn't take long for her to check a certain place and as she thought, there was a problem. He was no longer there. Rose knew that it wouldn't be long until he'd take action.

An entire week had passed and everyone but one person had been notified of the alluring threat.

The Queen

After all, that's who he was truly after, right?

Zelda's POV

I don't know why, but for some reason, Link has been a bit distant these couple days. Everyone has, from the maids to the guards, even the peasants. Everyone seemed a little on edge. I was walking across the halls when I could hear cries nearby. I opened the door to see Rose and Link fervently going at it.

"What do you think you two are doing?"

They both paused in motion taking a quick look at each other. Link was the first one to answer.

"Well it's been a while since Rose was gone and I was overdue for training. So we both decided to spar together."

"I see."

"Want to join us, sister?"

I scoffed, "Sparring is not an exercise fit for a queen. I shall not partake in such activities."

Rose looked taken aback but stayed silent nonetheless.

"Actually Rose, I meant to ask you something."

"Me?"

"If you think this is amusing then I suggest you stop immediately."

"No, I'm just a little surprised."

"Well compose yourself. I'm wondering if you knew the reason for everyone being on edge these days."

She tensed up and seemed to take interest in the floor.

"I uh don't know Zelda."

I growled at her, "Rose, I know for a fact that you're lying. Now tell me the truth."

She sighed and sat down, "You might want to sit down for this one."

"How dare you ask me to be seated on the ground?"

"Well, I'm sorry your highness but there's only so much I can do for you. Now sit if you want to know. Link, join us."

Link and I both sat down forming a circle with Rose.

"I'm sure the two of you know of the Four Swords."

We both nodded.

"Well, lately it has become a concern for all of us."

"Why would that be the case," I asked.

"You see, the Four Swords acts as a seal, keeping the great Wind Mage Vaati trapped in its blade. So if the seal were to weaken, there's a chance that Vaati may escape."
