Killer Amusement

Chapter 3

          While we waited in line we watched as people plummeted down a steep watery slope and the log splashing at the bottom wetting the log riders, knowing my friend kuno so well he again offered us to go buy a snack as we waited in line.   

"Im going to grab a churro before we get on the ride, Do any of you want any?" He asked

"None for me thanks" i said with a smile. 

"No thanks" lexie sighed. "Im still stuffed from lunch but maybe ash would want one? and of course bry, it is her first time at disney!" 

"Yes please!" she smiled.

He nodded "hmm ash babe!" he called out putting his arm around her. "lets go get some desserts from the concession stand thats right outside, i promise we will be back in time for the ride."

"aww love, how about after? Our turn is gonna come up shortly and i really dont think the concession line will hurry." Ashley replied caressing his cheek. "How about after?"

"hey birdie?" Bryana said embracing kayla in for a hug. "How about you and me go on the same log, im really nervous and i would like you to be behind me on this." she smiled.

"Aww bry, but we already said this was gonna be the last ride me and ash ride, i promised we would ride together after." She said kissing her forehead. "Please." 

"aww alright." she said as her cheeks turned pink.

Lexie elbowed me an almost made me tip over from the railing we were both sitting on, i felt so nosy and quickly turned to her wording 'WTF'. She motioned to them and rolled her eyes. "What does riding ONE ride with bry make a difference." Lexie whispered to me. "For fucks sake its a practically a ten minute ride out of the whole day!." 

"What you two whispering about?" Ashley said asked "Are you both planning something?" she said smiling with a raised eyebrow as the line moved.

"Oh nothing." i said with a smile. "Just nervous about the ride thats all." 

"uh huh" ashley nodded turning back to kayla. "Well just have fun."

"yeah..." i sighed shaking off that uneasy feeling. 

As we got closer and closer to our turn bryana was getting more and more excited she couldnt contain it. Once it we were next we all got into the asssigned lane for our log we decided that bryana should be at the front, me behind her and lexie and kuno last. 

"Oh god im so nervous!" Bryana said practically jumping with joy. "I hope we dont get soaked!"

As the log came to a stop in front of us bryana quickly jumped in an buckled in so fast it looked like a blur. Kuno turned to the log behind us and gave a last wave to ashley and buckled himself in. 

"Meet you on the flip side babe!" Ashley called out as kayla looked at me and nodded. I buckled myself in as the person checking the riders seatbelts were strapped on right started with the usual ride rules and in no time our log started foreward. 

"Let the fun begin!" lexie laughed as we went down the first small slope and splashed us with a little water. "Bry this is nothing like the last slope!"

"Thats what im worried about!" She laughed raising her arms for the next small slope but this time i got all the water into my seat.

"Come on!" I said feeling better and enjoying this fun moment. "screw the animatronics i want more drops!" 

We were at the singing animatronics part and lexie and kuno were hyped about the upcoming vertical steep drop coming up i heard an alarm go off outside the ride, but it was hard to tell since we were in an enclosed area and the singing was loud. I tried to make it out but quickly lost track of it when our log began being pulled up on the conveyor too the last big slope. My anxiety rose higher and higher.

"Remember to smile!" lexie said hyped. I could almost see the top when i heard a loud clang and then everything stopped, and so did my heart. We were balancing at the top and i could see a few logs and people at the bottom of the slope. We would crash full speed below if we were to drop now. I could hear kuno, lexie and bryanas screams of terror as i yelled "LEAN BACK!" and pulled bryana back into her seat. We were balancing on the edge now but one small weight shift and we would fall and crash.

"KUNO!" i heard ashley yell. "We're gonna go get help!" 

"K-Kuno is there something you can grab onto behind you!" i yelled. 

"Y-Yeah! But its too far!" he said reaching for the emergency rail. "If i can just get off my seat a bit-"

"DONT!" lexie quickly snapped. "JUST DONT MOVE OKAY!"

"Just stay calm!" i said nervously. "Try-" We Thrusted forward a bit with the water pressure under us and we lost balance again.

"KUNO!" Bryana cried

"I GOT IT!" i heard kuno strain himself to say and i looked at him for a second he held onto the emergency railing with his seatbelt still on.

"OKay okay okay..." i said feeling a little relieved.

"I wont be able to hold on for long!" he said struggling

"Bry!" i said turning to her and try to calm her down. "You're gonna have to slowly climb up so we wont fall." 

"ARE YOU INSANE! My weight will make it tip forward!"

"Just do it dammit!" lexie yelled

She slowly undid her seatbelt and turned her body toward me and gripped my arm tightly. "You can do it bry." i said reassuring her. She started to carefully stand on the seat when the log jerked forward made her lose balance and slip. I immeditaly gripped her arms tighter.

"I- I GOT YOU!" i shouted over her cries . "Keep going!" 

"Come on bry!" Kuno groaned as he was now stretching completely with his lower half still strapped in the ride. Bryana continued and was able to make it over me and grabbed onto lexie and made it to the emergency railing and stood there to help. I quickly but carefully undid my seatbelt and turned my body toward lexie and grabbed her hand as i slowly got up finding a good balance.

"I dont think i can hold on...Much longer!" kuno huffed.

"Come on nat!" Bryana outstretched her arm i was inches away from grabbing it when a water with pressurized water behind the log push the log forward and kuno didnt have a choice but to let go and the log tipped over completely and went down with the ride screaming in terror. I was thrown backward and falling down awaiting for death when i felt a surge of pain in my left side and than black.
