Charles had fallen asleep awhile ago so I had gone.
I went to my room and changed my dress. I took of the crown I had somehow managed to keep on. I left my ring with it to.
It was a plain ring with two hands hold a heart with a crown on top. The heart was a pretty blue diamond.
I don't know why but I felt I should leave it. So I did. I let my hair down and walked outside.
The trees swayed in the breeze. The air was fresh.
"Adelia!" Someone yelled. I turned to see Jaime running." I found a perfect place yesterday. I wanted to show you it."
"Alright." I said letting him lead on.
"It's a small place but it'll do." He said happily.
It indeed was small. It was a tiny little cottage outside of town. Surrounded by green hills, it was tucked away and hidden. I walked in to see a nice quant parlor with two doorways. One led to a hall with a bathroom and two bedrooms the other was a kitchen/dinning room.
"It's lovely." I smiled.
"Good it's settled then. Well let's go get our stuff." He said cheerfully.
It took two hours to get back. It was around lunch so we stayed to eat then said our goodbyes.
I hugged my sister for a while before muttering I promise in her ear. I handed her the little ring I took off earlier.
"Keep it until I get back." I said.
Charles walked out with a two bags. I had one and Jaime had nothing.
"Jaime, don't you have anything?" I asked.
"No while you guys sit and chat, I'll be shopping. After all we are going to London correct?" Will must have been intensely watching and Jaime could tell.
We hadn't really said where we were going. Just that we were indeed going.
"Yes, yes. Alright let us go." Jaime was going to walk to town and go shopping as Charles and I mounted on one of the horse we were momentarily borrowing since there were six and the cottage was a distance away.
I told him were to go and soon we came upon it.
"It's cute." He chuckled as I grew serious.
"I think it's pretty." I emphasized pretty.
"Let's go inside." Charles said taking the bags and helping me down.
"Alright. Alright." I said as we walked in.
He set our stuff in the larger bedroom which he and I would stay in while Jaime took the other room. I wondered if Charles took the box.
We laid on the bed side by side.
"Charles, can you draw?" I asked.
"I guess, just a tad bit." He said shyly," Why?"
"I was just wondering." I replied smoothly."Can I see one of your drawings?"
He hesitated.
"Um, sure, I mean they are not good. Are you sure you want to see?" He tried to get me out of looking.
"I'm positive I'm sure they are great." I felt the bed move a bit and sink down, then go back to normal as he stood to get his notepad from the box.
He handed it to me as he sat and lifted my head onto his lap.
I looked at the pictures for a second time. Taking deep breathes I finish looking through all of them. The newest one was of him holding me yesterday.
" These are beautiful. Amazing." I breathed.
"I'm glad you like them. It's hard to capture your perfection and draw it on paper." He smiled pulling my hair back behind me ear. I smiled as he leaned down to kiss me.
"Where did you learn to draw?" I asked.
" I taught myself."
"Wow." I breathed.
I continued looking over all of the pages and found myself falling a sleeping to Charles reciting poetry in my ear and the pages of drawings floating before my eyes.
I drifted of with this perfect man holding me. I woke up to the same thing hours later.
He was asleep to. His face looked younger. As if he had led a normal life free of the hell that was his everyday.
Fighting demons was stressful. Saving a girl you just met is stressful. Changing your life for her was stressful to.
I stared at him for awhile when his eyes finally opened and he smiled at me.
"I could wake up like this every time and never have a care it the world. It would be perfect." He said cupping my face.
