"What did you do? What the hell did you do?" I said as I shook against the wall. "Relax baby I only hurt him a little." the way Dally spoke was calm and unnerving. "You're covered in blood, what do you mean that you only hurt him a little?"

Anne was still in the corner, crying. My eyes flashed to her and I felt like falling to the ground with her. Dally looked behind him towards Anne. He started to walk to her saying, "Come on, you know me. I'm your daddy, I wouldn't hurt anyone badly. You can trust me." Anne shook her head "no," and curled even farther into herself. Her arms were wrapped over her eyes and her knees were pulled to her chest. Dally got his way over to her and started pulling on her arms, trying to get her to look at him.

"Get away from her! She doesn't want to be around you!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. He looked back at me before stomping over. His hands slapped against the wall behind me. "Don't you ever talk to me like that. You don't understand that I do everything for you and Anne. You have no right to yell at me." His face got closer to mine as he yelled at me. He pushed himself off of the wall. He stomped up the stairs. A few seconds later I heard the shower turn on. I knew that I probably only had a few minutes before he was out. I tip-toed up the stairs so he couldn't hear me. When I got to our room I grabbed my bag and started making my way to Anne's room. The water from the shower stopped flowing from the pipes and I heard Dally step out of the shower.

He must have saw the door to the room open because he walked out in only a towel. "Why do you have a bag? Where are you going?" He said with a threatening tone in his voice. I stopped in my tracks and slowly turned around to face him. His face held more sadness than betrayal. It almost looked like he was going to let tears spill out of his eyes. I tried to walk away but my feet just wouldn't move. As scared as I was of Dally his hair looked so beautiful sprawled out over his face, halfway covering his eyes. He took small steps towards me until he was right in front of me. His hand reached out to grab my cheek when I noticed the fresh wounds on the back of his knuckles. It almost looked as if someone had slashed him with a knife.

I pulled away from him so I wouldn't fall under his spell again. He looked into my eyes and i turned away. I pushed him away from me before I ran to Anne's room and grabbed her bag. I raced down the stairs. Anne was still in the corner. I grabbed Anne's hand and pulled her towards the door. As I was putting her into her car-seat Dally stood in the door-way only wearing jeans. Tears were falling from his eyes as he watched me get into the car. I backed the car out of the driveway. When I was far enough away from the house I realized that I don't know where i was planning on going. I pulled into a small diner and got out; taking Anne out of the car. I put her on my hip slightly sticking it out.

I walked into the diner and sat a booth in the back of the building with Anne in a booster seat in front of me. I put my head into my hands and contemplated my life right now. Dally is probably going to go to jail, I'm pregnant and I don't know who the father is, and I need to find a new place for Anne and I to stay. I was pulled out of my thoughts by a young woman talking to me, "Ma'am have you decided what you want to drink?" I looked up at the red head in front of me and said, "I'll just have a water and she'll have a juice please." The lady wrote down our drinks and walked away. I looked at Anne who was still very shaken up and put my hand over her small one.

A few moments later the girl came back and put our drinks down in front of us and asked, "Do you guys know what you want to eat yet?" I just ordered some eggs and some fruit for Anne. The lady once again walked away.

After we had finished our food and paid I buckled Anne back into her car seat before stepping out of the car again. I walked over to the pay-phone and put a quarter into it. I called to only person that I could right now, my mom. I silently prayed that she would pick up. After a few rings she did pick up and sighed. "Hey, mom. It's Darienne c-can I come over?" I heard the static voice come over the phone, "Yeah you can. It's really late though. Is Anne with you?"  "Ye-yeah Dally did something bad. I'll be over in a few minutes. The phone cut out just then. I walked over to the car and got back into the driver side.

When I got to my mom's house she was sat in the rocking chair wearing her nightgown outside on the front porch. She hugged me as I walked up the stairs with Anne on my hip. Just like last time she pulled Anne off of me and led me inside. The first words spoke were mom saying, "The boys are asleep already, you and Anne can go sleep in the guest-room unless you want to talk for a while." I smiled at her suggestion and sat down on the couch. When she sat beside me I could read the question in her eyes. "I think Dally might have killed Ashton. He came home covered in blood." Mom leaned over and pulled me into a hug, "It's okay baby. He can't hurt you." She whispered to Anne as Anne dug her head into my mom's shirt. She looked at me and said, "You're back home now."
