A/N: I really need to update my other books, instead of this one because I'm like, only writing this. xD. Nope, I find this one more enjoyable, plus, less writers block, for someone.
Tom mumbles, only to be greeted with a wet dog nose, and a lick on the face telling him to get out of bed. "Mandy, let me sleep in," he mutters, turning around only to halfway fall of his bed hitting his head on the wall. "Ow! Dammit, sh*t," he mutters. Mandy rubs her head on his, since she was on the bed, to calm him down. "Tom? You okay?" Tam walks in, looking around panicky. "I just hit my head on the wall. I'm good," he mutters, starting to pet Mandy.
"Well Mum made breakfast and left for work, and dad's also at work. So it's just you, me and Mandy," she chuckles. "Can you get my medicine from the cabinet?" Tom stands up, dusting himself off. "Alright, meet ya at the table, and yes, I already got Mandy's food," Tam rolls her eyes, known my her facial expression and eyebrows, as the two walk to the kitchen, Mandy standing right by Tom.
Tam opens the cabinet, grabbing Tom's medication, and checking to make sure. "Here you go," she puts in it his hand. "Thanks," he mumbles, before swallowing it, sitting at the table, Tam grabs Mandy's bowl, putting it by Tom's feet. "I can't believe Mum AND Dad have to work during the summer, it sucks to be honest."
"They're just paying the bills. Money doesn't grow on trees," he laughs, before taking a bite of the pancakes. "I never said, ugh, whatever. Tom, what are you doing?"
"I'm giving Mandy a pancake," he glances up at Tam out of habit. "She has her dog food, what the hell?"
"She wants a pancake," Tom smiles, leaning back up. "You're weird."
"Whatever, has Tori or Mattie texted you recently?" He mumbles before taking another bite of a pancake. "Mattie called me yesterday. And called me again last night. They, er, the cops found Matt-"
"He's okay?! He's okay right?" Tom perks up. "Um? He had to be hospitalized," Tam shrugs. "What else did she say? What was the extent to it? Is he okay? Like, how bad?"
"She said there's bruising around his neck, wrists and ankles like he was choked and tied up, and he has stitching across his arm chest and leg. She said she called Ell and Tori as well," she weakly smiles.
"Are you smiling? Why are you smiling?" He says in a weak tone of voice. "No! I-I'm, er, weakly smiled. Just, let's ignore in okay?" She nervously laughs. "Okay, um," Tom mutters, before grabbing out his phone, dragging his phone across the screen as it read out the apps, and double tapped once it said "Messages".
"What are you doing?"
"Texting Edd and Tord? Well Matt since he's in the group chat, but whatever," Tom mumbles clicking on the chat, starting to type. "You guys up yet?" His phone says letter by letter as he typed it. "Can you put some headphones in while you do that? Please?" Tam groans.
"Sorry for using a free, given accommodation to help me do things that most people can do despite my disability," he growls, talking fast. Tam just stares at him, she never heard Tom say he had a disability with her ears so she was kinda just embarrassed slightly. "What? Nothing to say back?"
"Sorry? But the voice is kinda annoying."
"I know isn't it? I don't think I can change it," Tom nervously laughs. "Really? Open up the settings and get to the voiceover option, there's probably a way to change it."
"I'm fine, it's just a stupid voiceover," he puts his hands out to grab for his water but ends up dropping it, the glass breaking and cutting his hand. "Fu*k, ow! Sh*t, why do we have glass cups anyways?" He winces, holding his hand tightly. "Tamara, pick up the glass," he sucks in air. "Already on it, good thing you didn't hit Many," she sighs, sweeping up the broken glass, putting in in the recycling bin. "Let me see your hand."
"What do you know about fixing people?"
"Dude, I just want to make sure you didn't like, get glass in there or something, she mutters bending down as Tom growls, letting her see his had. "You have a few pieces stuck, I'm going to call Mum-"
"Call Dad, remember? mum said she has a meeting?"
"Oh yeah, I'll call Dad then," she grabs out her phone, dialing the number. "Dad? Hey, yeah, um, Tom knocked over a glass and cut his hand. Yeah, what are we going to do? The cuts are deep, at least I think, like a finger nail? The doctors is to far of a walk and neither of us can drive. Dad! Dad do you really expect me to drive? Oh, you're joking, okay, love you too, see you in a bit," she hangs up. "He's coming home?"
"Yeah, he also said to clean off your hand."
"There's still glass in my hand, do you expect me to pick it out?!" Tom holds his wrist tighter. "It's my left hand which sucks even worse!"
"Do you just want to wait 'til Dad gets home?!"
"Maybe, he actually went to school for nursing!" Tom growls standing up. "Well maybe he wouldn't even have to come home if you weren't such a klutz!" Tam growls back, crossing her arms. "Well it's not my fault I'm blind!"
"Your the one that dragged Mum to the store so you could get that damned stuff animal!"
"Well it's not my fault there was a crash!"
"Just shut up will you?" Her voice breaks as she struggles to not cry, "I just care about you, idiot. You run into things, break stuff and end up cutting yourself, trip over things, and yet you and fight with me?! I don't, I don't you to end up hurting yourself and it not be something they can fix in a day! You've done your research, and I've done mine! So many blind kids die by even simple things! Tom, your my brother, can't I care about you?!" Small tears start to flow down her face.
"Tamara, I-"
"Save it, Dad's going to be home in a few minutes, your hands gonna get fixed then," she storms up the stairs, slamming the door. "Mandy, you still here?" Tom glances around, still out of habit.
"There you are."
"Message from Edd Gillions, at 8:30am; Yeah, I'm up. Tord's probably sleeping still."
Tom slightly laughs, he liked how it would mispronounce Edd's last name and Tord's name. He sits on the couch, still holding his hand, letting Mandy head rest on his lap. "I am an idiot, aren't I? I'm talking to a damned dog," he slightly laughs to himself. He sits there, mumbling things to Mandy, until he hears the door open. "Dad?" He turns his head. "Yep, you guessed it. Did you clean off your hand like I asked?"
"Er, no. Sorry," Tom chuckles nervously, his dad sighing, closing the door, walking over to the couch. "How did you even cut your hand like this?"
"Tried to grab my water, and it broke."
"I told your mother we need something other than glass," he sighs, getting up to grab the first aid kid. "I'm going to have to pick the glass out, it might hurt," his dad look up, Tom nods. His dad starts to pick them out, Tom holding tightly on the couch arm with his free hand. "There, now to clean them out, I'm going to use rubbing alcohol," he puts some onto a gauze, Tom nods again. "It's going to sting," his dad starts dabbing it on the cuts. "A-Are you done yet?"
"I just need to wrap your hand up. Thankfully the cuts weren't as deep as your sister explained," he grabs out the wrap, wrapping Tom's hand up. "Is everything alright?"
"Tam and I, we had another argument," Tom sighs, petting Mandy with his right hand. "I'll speak with her," his dad stands up. "N-No dad, it's fine, um, you can get back to work, Tam cleaned up the glass."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," Tom smiles. "Alright," he ruffles Tom's hairs. "Dad, come on!"
"Love you Tom, see you tonight!"
"Bye dad, love you too," Tom mutters as his dad leaves. "Mandy, wanna go on a walk?" Tom mutters, Mandy jumps down from the couch, sitting on the ground. "Let me grab your leash and vest, harness thing," he stands um, Mandy leading him to it. "Is this called a leash? It's like, I don't know, a pole, whatever, come here Mandy," he puts it on her, she helps him figure out what way it goes.
"Crap, I need to get dressed," he mutters, grabbing a pair of jeans, and a random shirt. Mandy helps him decipher front from back, and even bringing him his shoes. "Good girl," he smiles, slipping on his shoes, petting her. "Should I bring my cane?" He mutters slipping on the sunglasses.
"I'll be fine, I have my guide dog," Tom smiles, grabbing the leash thing, grabbing his phone, and walking out the door. "Tom! Hey!" Tom turns around to hear the sound of crutches walk up to him, smiling. "Hi Edd."
"Going out for a walk?"
"Um, yeah?" Tom scratches his head. "I thought you held the- Tom, what happened to your hand? Why is it all wrapped up and stuff?"
"Broke a glass and ended up cutting myself."
"Oh, well, did you here what happened? My sister was telling me last night, I was going to tell you guys but-"
"Matt was found? I don't really like saying it like that, it's sound like he's a lost children's Toy," Tom mutters the last part. "Yeah, aren't you happy?"
"Of course I am! It's Matt and I-"
"You're blushing, why?" Edd points at him, making Tom blush more. "I'm not blushing you idiot," Tom mutters. "Yeah, you are! Do you like-"
"I don't like Matt okay?" He growls, "do I?" He mutters to himself, making sure Edd doesn't hear. "When my mum gets back from work we're planning on visiting him, you and Tam wanna come? I know your parents work longer than my mum."
"Actually my dad's coming home from work early, thanks for the offer though," Tom mutters. "Can you stop mumbling? It's harder to understand you-"
"I had a fight with Tam, and it's-"
"I'm not surprised, you two fight all the time, oh, sorry, continue."
"She just, she made me feel bad about every fight we had, and she's just looking out for me, and ugh, I don't know Edd!" Tom growls slightly, Mandy rubs her snout on his leg, hoping to calm him down. "Oh. Was it the, 'You worry me and I'm just trying to watch out for you' speech?"
"Yep, you got it, s-spot on."
"I get plenty of those," Edd smiles slightly. "Don't we all? Um, I'm going to go on my walk now."
"Could I come?"
"Are you coming just to bother me? Or what," Tom raises an eyebrow. "Fine, whatever grumpy head, I'll just go back to my house," Edd mumbles walking back into his house, Tom starting to walk, letting Mandy help maneuver ham.
