A/N: I'm going to start putting the author's note in the beginning, because? Because I can children. Sorry it's so freaking short. WHAT IS PRODUCTIVITY?

Mattie sits on in a chair, staring at the perfectly made bed, the purple comforter needly laid out, the whole and purple pillows organized nicely, and a few stuffed animals spread out across the bed. "Matilda, sweetie, you okay?" Her dad walks into the room. "Have they found anything else? Anything?" She turns her head, looking at her dad. "No, they haven't found anything."
Mattie said nothing looking over to the bed, Matt's bed. "Staring at his bed won't bring him back," he sighs. "Well at least I'm doing something! You are showing nothing! Your son! My bother was kidnapped! They found his blood dad!" She gets up yelling at her father as the tears start to flow.
"Matilda, you will not speak to me like that! Matthew's kidnapping is hurting me too, he's my son!"
"I-I'm sorry dad, just leave me alone for now, okay?" Mattie sits back down on the chair, her dad walking out, slamming the door. She glances over at the plate on the bookshelf, toast, a banana and water, she grabs it, slowly starting to eat the food, her phone lighting up. "Mattie, you haven't been texting me, how are you holding up?"
   "Best as I can Tam."
"Do you want to talk about it."
   "No."
"Okay, I think you should talk to us. Tori and Ell said you stopped talking to them, you stopped talking to me. I'm surprised you even answered me."
"My brother is missing Tam, do you expect me to go all sunshine and rainbows?"
"No, I didn't say that. I'm texting you because I want to help!"
   "Well stop!"
Mattie turns her phone off staring at Matt's bed, his hoodie on the hook right next to it. "Matilda, have you eaten yet?" Her mother walks in. Her brown hair in a messy bun, large bags under her eyes as she looks at her daughter. "Y-Yes," Mattie pulls her legs up to her chest.
"You're spending all your time in his room, why not come out?" By the tone of her voice, anyone could tell she was broken. "Mum, I'm, I'm fine, I'm just worried," she looks up at her mum.
"Mattie, it's okay. I-I'm worried as well, just, you have to trust Matt will be okay," she walks closer to Mattie. "Mum, is it bad that I doubt it? I don't want him to be dead, but something in my dead keeps telling me he's dead, and I can't handle that thought," she covers her eyes, leaning over, letting her ginger hair cover her face. "Tell that thought he's fine."
"B-But what if he's not mum?! What if he's hurt? Like, really badly?" She runs her hand through her hair. "Mattie. I haven't been able to sleep thinking about that, worrying is my job, please, don't stress yourself."
"Mum, he's my brother, w-what do you expect me to do?" She looks up as her mum smiles weakly. "Talk to Tam, Ell, Tori, even Tom, Edd or Tord, you can't beat yourself up over something you can't control. Matt, Matthew will be okay," she smiles weakly. "I-I, o-okay, I um, Tam texted me, I-I kinda blew her off," Mattie runs her hand through her hair, putting her hair overtop her head.
"Mattie, just know, I am worried sick about Matt, but we have to stay strong, okay?" She puts both her hands on Mattie's shoulders before giving her a hug. "Thanks mum," she nods. "Now, call Tam, a-and talk with her."
"Okay, um, I-I guess I can go to my room," she gets up, grabbing her phone. "M-Mum?"
   "Yes Mattie?"
"Is, is Matt's disappearance even effecting dad? He's acting as if nothing happened," Mattie looks up, only to see her mum's worried face. "I don't know, I've noticed that as well, I can talk to him if you want," she smiles. "You don't have too, I-I'll just call up Tam," Mattie smiles, heading into her room, ringing Tam.
"Hey Mattie," Tam laughs. "Why are you laughing?"
"Pfff, Tom tripped over Mandy's bowl, spilling the food everywhere and he couldn't get up because he was laughing to hard," Tam laughs. "It was your fault for not picking it up!" Tom yells the phone picking it up, laughter still present in his voice. "Mandy?"
"Oh, that's right, we didn't tell you, er, Tom got a service dog, she's actually really cute," Tam takes a deep breath in other to stop her from laughing. "Good for him, right?" Mattie slightly cocks her head, even if Tam couldn't see it.
"Yeah, he likes her, he says how helpful she is and how he helps with his anxiety, she's helping so much we actually got to go on a lower dosage for his anxiety medication," Tam smiles, present in how her voice was. "That's good, um, heh," Mattie scratches her head.
"Well then, er, oh yeah! Hey, I have something for you, no it's not about Matt, I was going to give it to you at school, but er, you know, um, do you want it?"
"What is it?" Mattie was now interested in whatever Tam had wanted to give her. "Just wait, I can give it, oh," she stopped. "What we're going going to say?"
"The next little meet up, but, um, heh, you know, dammit, sorry."
"Oh, er, it's fine, look, we can meet up at the park."
"Matilda! Jamie! We need to go! Now!" Her dad calls out. "On second though, I have to go, sorry, bye!" She hangs up the phone, running down the stairs.

~An hour later~

Mattie and her parents are at the hospital, they got a call saying they found Matt, but he had to be hospitalized. "The Heathen family?" One of the doctors call out. "Yes? Is Matthew okay? Is my baby okay?!" Mattie's mum standing up. "H-He's alive, but he isn't stable. W-Would you like to see him?"
   "Yes!"
"Alright, come with me," he leads them to a room, Matt lays on the hospital bed, his hair down and a mess, a mask over his nose and mouth, stitches along his chest, right leg and his left arm, bruises around his wrists, ankles, and his neck, obviously from rope. Matt's mum makes a squeak, staring at him, tears flowing. "M-Mum, he looks h-horrible," Mattie stares at her brother.
"He hasn't woken up since the paramedics got him, though he should walks up soon."
"Who did this? Who did this to my baby!"
   "Ma'am I'm just the doctor, I don't know."
"H-He's only twelve," she whimpers, her eyes glued at Matt. "He was sick as a b-baby and he was hospitalized, he almost d-died. A-And now, now I might lose him again-"
   "Jamie, h-he'll be fine. He's a fighter."
"Mum, I'm scared," Mattie looks up at her mother. "I, I am to Matilda," she hugs her daughter, her dad joining in. "A-At least they found him r-right?"
"Mattie, I'm so glad they found him, I'm just worried," her dad hugs her, and her mum.
"M-Mummy? Daddy?" Matt's voice squeaks. "Matthew?!" His mum runs over there, gently grabbing his hand, starting to cry even more. "I-I'm so s-sorry," he squeaks again, the tears starting to fall down his face.
"No! Don't be sorry, this isn't your fault, don't think it is," she smiles through her tears. "I-I was so scared. I-I thought, I thought h-he was going to k-kill me."
"Matt, you're okay," Mattie smiles standing at the foot of the bed. "I-I don't feel okay, e-every-everything hurts," Matt takes deep breath, knowing the mask was on to help his breath. "I-It's hard to b-breath," he mutters, his eyes fluttering shut, his heart monitor stayed the same though. "Matt? Matthew?"
"Mum, I'm t-tired," he mutters. "Matthew, try and stay awake, please," she grabs his hand tighter. "I-I'm just going to t-take a nap," he mutters. "No, no, it's not time for naps, please."
"M-Mummy, I'm fine," he takes a deep breath in before he starts to fall asleep. "Matthew? Please," his mum starts to tear up. "M-Mum, look, his heart monitor is fine, he's just sleeping," Mattie points at the monitor.
"You're right, h-he needs his rest," she shakily breaths out. "I can't believe he's okay, he's okay," Mattie mutters to herself, looking up at her father who had nothing on his face, just a fake smile. "He's okay, he's okay," her mum kept repeating to herself. "He's okay mum," Mattie smiles, crying as she hugs her.
