We were split into three groups.
Group One was The Elites. There was no such thing as the populars. We only have the Elites, who no one dares to mess with.
Group Two belonged to the Averages. The one who you'd need to have a brie...

It was the last day of school and we were going to clean out our lockers. I opened mine and a letter fell out signed 'The E's.' The Elites? What do they want from me? I opened the letter.
Dear Kalani,
We've noticed you lately and we're thinking of recruiting a new member into the Elites. If you want to join, meet us after school in the café. Honestly, we need a girl like you with agility and strength on our team. Who knows what'll happen? Join us for coffee and we'll discuss what you're getting into.
The Elites
I folded the letter back up and turned around to see Mackenzie leaning up against the locker across from mine and smirking. I smiled, signalling that I'm going to meet them after school. She smiled back and walked away. Most likely to tell the Elites that I'll be there.
---
I went to the café after school to find out that the girls had already ordered their coffees.
"Kalani!" Maddie turned to face me and smirked.
"Hey." I smiled awkwardly.
"Sit here," Maddie patted the seat next to her. "I'd like some company."
"Hey! I'm right here!" Chloe piped.
"Of course, Chlo." Maddie smiled.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Paige sneer slightly. Nia saw too and rubbed Paige's back.
"Okay. Time to start." Maddie said.
I looked around nervously. "Um, start what?"
Maddie smiled slightly. "Well... You are going to break into a fenced area that we are not allowed to go into. It's normal for us, but for you... I'm assuming it's not."
I shake my head. "I'm going alone?"
"Yes. Not even Kendall or Brooke will be there." Maddie nodded.
I took a deep breath and smiled. Now this is my kind of group.
---
After drinking and finishing the coffees, we headed towards the fenced area. They dropped me off.
"We're going to drop you off here." Maddie smiles. Maddie had a beat up minivan that we all had to squish into. "My mom's minivan is such a struggle. She passed it down to me, and she got a brand new Range Rover. Don't you have a Range Rover, Kalani? I've seen your Instagram and I've seen you pull into the school with your car.
"Yeah, actually. I do."
"Cute. Here's your stop. So, what you're going to do is steal that little thing over there. See it?" She points in the distance to a glowing gold watch. "Some bandits stole it from us, so we're here to steal it back. Here." She tosses me a completely black outfit and mask. "Make sure your entire body is covered. No hair, no skin showing, no nothing. Make sure you look like a shadow."
I slipped on the black sweatpants over my shorts and slid on the jacket, zipping it far up. I put on the mask, making sure all of my hair was tucked inside of it. "Okay. I'm ready."
"There are cameras, but they're bandits, just like us. So, there's no way they'll go running to the police about something they stole that we took back. They have so many rivals, but they might know it's us because it's our watch or else they probably wouldn't guess it was us. We rarely steal from them." Mackenzie shrugs.
"Be safe." Maddie smiles mischievously. "We'll be back in five."
I step out of the car and they drive away. I inhaled sharply and exhaled.
I stepped a bit closer to the fence, mentally gathering energy to hoist myself over. Come on, Lani, you're the cheer captain. You have upper body strength. I was face to face with the gate and I grabbed the top and began to pull myself towards the top. I was at the top and carefully made my way down, making sure not to make any noise. I could see the watch glowing, lit up by a bright light.
I stepped closer when a bright red line flashed in front of me, along with a bunch of other glowing red lines. Great. Lasers. I sighed. I bent my body and passed through the first bit of lasers. It was just like those movies when the spy was on a secret mission. Once I was standing straight up on my two feet, I planned out my next move and executed it. As I was crossing through the third set of lasers, I heard a loud buzzing sound. I quickly moved away and I smelled burnt hair. Uh oh, guess my hair got caught in the laser. Hurry up, Lani. You'd be lucky if the bandits weren't alerted yet.
I quickly made my way through the last set of lasers to the watch. There was a lever labelled 'Lasers' so I pulled it, disabling the lasers. I snatched the watch and ran through the now barren area. I easily hopped over the fence and Maddie pulled up just in time.
"Hurry, Kalani!" I jumped in and slammed the car door behind me.
"How was it?" Brynn pried.
"Surprisingly easy." I said.
"Was it as easy as being a base?" Kendall sneered.
"Hey, you wanna take my spot? Be my guest!" I shot back.
Kendall huffed and sat back in her seat. If there was one thing I knew about Kendall, it was that being a spy definitely wasn't her thing. She was more of the 'lookout' type of person but hated to admit it so she didn't seem like a stepstool which she quite literally was.
"Well, Lani. You passed the test." Maddie smirked.
I glanced around. "What test?"
"You just stole my watch that I set up for you to steal. There are no 'other bandits.' Well, none that we know of yet. We were watching from my car in the woods. You did get your hair caught in a laser which is a big no-no, but you'll learn, Hilliker. I like you and I want you to be in our group."
"Oh!" I said, taken aback. Who am I to not take this once in a lifetime opportunity? "Yes. I will be in your group."
