Chapter One
My name is Sheena I am 5ft 6 with natural long blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. I am a bit too skinny but that is not my fault, but you will find out why soon enough. Back in my former school I was one of the popular's, however that all changed about five years ago when I was thirteen. Now I am eighteen homeless, and alone.
FLASH BACK
Five years ago, I was on my way home from school, but I didn't have a lift today as I had to stay behind. Finally reaching my house after about an hour walk, I couldn't get into my house. I tried ringing my parents and my brother to find out what was going on, but they never picked up. I knew they would not have locked me out, as none of my family ever locked the door; well that is when they were here anyway.
I sat on the porch waiting for my family to return only to end up falling sleep. A young family, who asked me to move along, as this was their house now, waked me up. I looked at them feeling shocked and confused. I knew my family never liked me but how could they do this to me. I thought to myself. The man looked angrily at me "if you're not gone by the time I open this door I will call the police," he told me sternly. Not knowing what else to do, I began to walk away.
My life changed that day completely, as I could not stay in my town or school, as everyone there was rich. In addition, anyone who did not have money was scum. Therefore, I left that day not knowing where I was going, with only my bankcard and the clothes on my back. I went straight to get some money so at least I could find a place to stay tonight, only to find I only had two hundred dollars left in there. That is how I have ended up where I am today!
END OF FLASHBACK
It was Monday morning, and I was walking through the main doors of my school, putting on my false smile that I used every day. Don't get me wrong I love school and I do get good grades but I have no friends none at all. I'm just known to everyone as the nerd who does not talk. As I carried on walking down the long corridor towards my locker, with my head down, hoping to become invisible to the cheerleaders who love to bully me at every chance they got. However, luck never seems to be on my side, I was thinking to myself, just as my body was slammed into the lockers. Whacking my head, so hard I began to feel dizzy, before dropping to the floor. As per usual, not one person stopped to help me.
Nevertheless, I knew they saw me, as every person that passed, managed to kick me. As soon as I managed to get back up, I continued my way to my locker trying my best to stay out of every body's way. After taking out all my books for this morning's classes, I made my way to maths.
Making my way to my usual seat in the back of the classroom, I heard the popular girls bust out laughing. Knowing dam well it was me they were laughing at, I began to walk faster. Every day it would be the same, I was getting so sick and tired of it, but there was no way out for me.
Then to make matters worse, they all started shouting abuse at me, as I got closer to them. Olivia the queen bee of the school had stuck her leg out to trip me up. However, lucky for me I always walk with my head down, so as soon as I seen her leg, I quickly avoided being tripped over. Just as I managed to make it into my seat, the teacher walked in and lucky for me we had a supply teacher. As all the teachers, seem to hate me too. Nevertheless, do you no what really irritates me, not one person in this lousy school has ever taken the time to get to know me, yet they all hate me.
The rest of my classes before lunch went by fast and without any more torture from the it crowd. As I made my way to my usual spot outside I noticed someone had already taken the bench.
I walked to the edge of the school field and the forest. It was lovely and peaceful here; I pulled out an apple I had saved from last night from work. As I have managed to get a part time job in a small café, it is not much but enough to buy me food and clothes. Tonight I do not have work, which is great because I get to sleep in a bed. As every night I sleep in different places , sometimes I am lucky and end up getting into the homeless shelter, but the nights I can't get in, I end up sleeping in some ally way or the park.
The bell signalled letting us know lunch was over, so quickly finishing off my apple, I waited until everyone had enter the building, before making my way to class. The afternoon went by fast and before I knew it, the end of day bell rang.
I waited patiently in the classroom like every day, until I knew everyone had left. As that way, I knew it would be safer. After packing my bag with all my books, I started my two-hour walk to the homeless shelter.
I loved Mondays, as I could have a bath and catch up on all my homework in comfort. I have a locker in the local train station, which is my wardrobe along with the toilets being my bathroom. Every morning, I would go and get washed and changed. It became the easiest way, as although I worked part time I still did not have enough to rent a place. Nevertheless, I have been working and saving up so hard, that I should be able to afford my own place soon.
After making a quick stop at the train station to pick up my toiletries and pyjamas, I quickly made my way to the homeless shelter. Because the queue is always big, and the minute the doors open, everyone barges in. As they only have space for one hundred people. Everyone else just get moved along for the night. That is why I only manage to get a place on the days I do not work. However, what can I do, as the way I see it now is that, money is more important than a place to stay.
After having a much-needed bath, I made my way down stairs where they were dishing up a hot homemade dinner. Then I settled down onto my bed for the night where I done all my homework. At nine o'clock on the dot, the lights go out leaving us all to have a pleasant and comfortable sleep. My alarm went off at five am, giving me enough time to pack my things up and have breakfast, before leaving.
After work on Tuesday, I made my way towards the park, as I knew not many gangs would be hanging out now, as I worked later than usual. Entering the park, I walked over to the far corner and made up a bed on the bench. It used to frighten me to near death, but now I am kind of used to it. Although I still get scared when I see groups of boys, as I have had many of them attempting to rape me in the past. But lucky enough I have escaped without them succeeding.
As I fell into a deep slumber, I felt something touch me startling me from my slumber. I jumped up only to see nothing; it must have just been a mouse or something I thought to myself. Lying back down, I tried to fall back to sleep, but I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I closed my eyes willing for blackness to take over, when I felt two strong arms picking me up. I began Screaming and kicking, as I tried to break free from the strong hold on me. However, no matter how hard I tried to break free I could not, as he was too big and strong. I knew it was a man by his musty scent. He started to run with me in his arms towards the woods. My body began shaking uncontrollably and my vision was blurred from crying that I could not even make out where he was taking me anymore. I Felt like I was going to pass out, as my body became numb. Nevertheless, I fought as hard as I could to stay awake, as I knew it would be too dangerous for me to past out now. Fighting to stay awake, something hit me over the head, making me pass out.
