After getting changed into my nightclothes I climbed into bed next to Chris. He kissed me on the lips before turning over and soon enough he was fast asleep. I lay on my back thinking once again about everything that had happened today. What I couldn't understand was why my family had come to give me advice? Did my witch family feel the need to persuade me to do the right thing or was it my father and his family since I'd managed to ignore my destiny before? Or maybe it was due to the Elders? Maybe they'd felt that I was dangerous and that by seeing my mom's side of the family I would be swayed to not kill Wyatt, seeing as how I would basically become a Charmed one for evil, and a Charmed one without siblings. If so then the Elders were a lot of assholes, then again they had it easy just perching in the clouds ordering us around down here while witches died. Cowards!
I sighed and turned over, feeling my head sink into the pillow and I closed my eyes, though it didn't help the feeling I had in the pit of my stomach. It felt like I was nervous and scared and slightly paranoid all at the same time. I felt so nervous and scared about what might come that I literally started to feel as though I wanted to throw up. I don't know where the paranoia had blossomed from though unless it was because I'd suddenly become worried that something would happen if I fell asleep and that someone was watching, waiting for me to close my eyes. I quickly let my eyes fly open and glanced sneakily around the room, but I couldn't see anyone there and I couldn't feel anyone either, which was a relief since my imagination was running wild and I was picturing demons clustered around the room.
I licked my lips because they had become dry before I sighed again and turned so that this time I was facing Chris' back. I could see the movement of the sheets as he breathed deeply and slowly, telling me he was fast asleep. I sighed again before I closing my eyes and finally I felt myself drift off to sleep, but the relief didn't last long because as soon as the darkness claimed me I was suddenly hit by a bright light.
I closed my eyes against the brightness before opening them and I frowned at where I was standing. I could feel blades of grass tickling my bare feet and a cold wind blew softly around me, raising goosebumps on my arms, since I was only wearing a camisole. I took in a deep breath and the air smelt like burning, the way it does when hundreds of fireworks are set off at once and they leave a sort of sweet smoky smell behind.
"Lila" a voice welcomed from behind me and I turned quickly to see Darien sitting down on a high backed red cushioned chair. I grimaced.
"I see you found me" I stated and he smiled at me before gesturing me to sit in the chair opposite him. I hesitantly accepted since I was too tired to stand up. He shrugged.
"It isn't hard Lila since you are unique and I know the best way to reach you in through your dreams. Getting into your head is a very hard and gruelling process though and I almost wasn't able to do it" he said and it sounded like he was complementing me. I nodded at him and there was silence for a few seconds before I got really annoyed.
"Look pal you're in my head okay so either you say what you want to say- quickly- and disappear or I will force you out" I said annoyed at the fact that he was disrupting my sleep when I had to wake up in the morning to help out in Magic School. I didn't have to help out really since it was my day off, but I'd volunteered since I enjoyed it there so much. He grinned and shrugged.
"Sure sorry Lila. Well I know that you know why I'm here since you practically spied on my group, and I guessed that you'd read the Book of Prophecies" he said and I smiled slightly at him. He shrugged.
"So I'm here to take you with me. It's as simple as that" he said and I rolled my eyes at him.
"Well you would not be my first choice of an escort had I wanted one" I shrugged. I didn't particularly want to go anywhere with Darien as it was, least of all the Underworld. He grinned at me.
