About half an hour had passed and I watched as Chris' eyes darted around behind his eyelids before he started to jerk. I quickly opened up the bond and sent feelings of love and comfort through to him, hoping it would calm him down. The twitching slowed down until his body returned to normal, but he opened his eyes to see me kneeling beside him.
"Lila?" he frowned sounding confused. I tilted my head, wondering why he sounded as though he had no clue why I was here. I bit my lip before deciding that it had something to do with the disease. I smiled at him and he breathed heavily before trying to sit up. He yelped and I shushed him, lightly placing my hand against his shoulder and pushing him back down onto the couch.
"Lie down Chris, you don't need to sit up" I said lightly. His head turned towards me and I saw how worn out he was. Just trying to sit up had taken too much energy out of him.
My body suddenly went cold and I felt a chill come from Chris. It was as though I felt on the air the sudden drop in his body temperature before he started shaking. His hand that was in mine turned colder, and I didn't think that was possible.
"Lila I'm cold" Chris said before his teeth started chattering and I nodded even though he couldn't see me.
"Okay I'll be right back" I said before going to stand up. I had no idea what I was going to do though, maybe fetch a hot water bottle or a duvet.
"No. St-stay with me please" he replied and I lowered myself back to the floor.
"Okay, what can I do to warm you up?" I asked but another fit of shivering rendered Chris hopeless of telling me. I gulped before calling on fire.
"Fire go into Chris please and try to keep him warm" I whispered, my eyes closed in concentration as I felt fire travel from my body and into Chris via our clasped hands. I opened my eyes as I heard Melinda gasp, to see that Chris had turned a pink colour.
"How does that feel?" I whispered to him as I felt fire trying to warm him up. He swallowed.
"Better, but I'm still cold" he said, able to answer without stuttering. I gulped and bit my lip as I thought of how I could warm him up, but it meant he would have to lie on me so that he could share my body heat.
I looked up at Wyatt and Mel to see that their faces were full of concern. I gnawed on my lip and they looked back at me. I saw Wyatt swallow.
"Do what you need to do?" he said his jaw clenched and I nodded at him. I felt bad that my very presence aggravated him but then again he didn't know me anymore, though I was still the same person just someone that had embraced her demonic side. He seemed to know that when I'd looked at him I was asking for permission to do something and this made me smile at the fact that even though he didn't want to, he still understood me slightly. I nodded at him.
"Okay Chris I'm going to move you slightly now okay? You don't have to help me, just don't resist" I said and he nodded slightly, his teeth chattering.
I took a deep breath and called upon the element air. I felt the air swirl around me because it moved to Chris, but that made him colder. I frowned.
"Air can you please lift Chris up slightly so that I can slide in beneath him?" I asked and air tickled my face, as though it was saying yes. I gulped and straightened my hands so that my palms were facing upwards before I lifted my arms, as I did so air lifted Chris' upper body. I felt Chris resist and I reached out to him through the bond trying to get him to calm and it didn't take long for his body to relax.
I continued to raise my hands until Chris was diagonally slanted, with only his hips and lower body touching the couch. I stop lifting my hands and flashed my palms towards Chris, telling air to keep him still. Air obeyed and I navigated my way underneath Chris and when I was comfortable I nodded to myself.
