Yes or No?

chapter 1

"It's not fair!"  I expressed

" Nothings fair, your just going to have to accept my decision."

"why do you hate me so much? All you ever do is make me miserable, mom would've never done this she would've let me."  I yelled. I know this hurt because you could see the pain in his eyes. Mothers death was hard on him and he denied the fact it happened. 

" Go to your room, NOW!" His voice was harsh and loud but you could tell that he was remembering mom. I stood there waiting I don't know what for but just something. That's when he yelled at me, " JANE NOW!"

I run up the stairs and into my room slamming the door behind me, thinking it would help shut the world behind. My father and I were in yet another fight, this time about me going to a party. Ever sense Mom's death Dad has been keeping me in as much as he can. I know mom would have let me go because she thinks teenagers need to have fun and be a kid before they had to grow up. the party was at Jason's house, he's a senor but my friends were going and they wanted me to go to.

My mother died 9 months ago, it was in an accident, some guy claimed he  didn't see her while she was jogging. But police tested him and he was drunk, he swerved off to the side and hit her.

Once I herd his story i new he was lying. What really makes me mad is that they let him go with no charges, even though they had evidence he was drunk an it was all his fault. in the police station i saw him and yelled, screamed and cried it was his fault. He just laughed and said, " aww, poor little girl with no mommy." I wanted to punch his face but then my father appeared. I was 15 then and now I'm 16, it was sad mom had missed my birthday two months ago.

In my room I did my homework. when I was done it was 6:30 PM I decided to take a shower and go down stairs. when I got there dinner was no where in sight, same with Dad. I look in the fridge and find nothing to eat, sure there was food but nothing good or tasty. I go to the cupboard and settle with a bowl of cereal. When I Finnish I get the courage to go find Dad and ask, calmly, what the reasons why I cant go tonight. 

I look in the office that has a desk centred in the room. The desk is cluttered with papers reading sorrows and letters from family and bills.

Next I check the his own room, empty. The room looks so perfect like it has never been touched.

I then check outside and notice the car is gone. Hes probably left to a friends house to get away from the house, and me.

I suddenly get the idea to text Lizzy. 

Hey liz, r u still going to the party?

Yeah r u?

Well, my dad said no, but hes gone right now.

then perfect, ill come get you and we will leave. :)

that's fine with me right now cause im mad at him

k! see you in 20!!!

I run into the problem of what to where. I search my closet and find crap. Nothing suitable for a party in my opinion. I decide to check my moms closet there i find a cute simple blue and white dress. I put it on. then i apply make-up and put hair down in it's natural wavy fashion. then Lizzy arrives. I ask her how i look she says the dress really compliments my figure. I agree. i notice what she is wearing,a dark violet nice shirt and a cute navy blue mini skirt that goes about two inches above her knees.

We both get into her white Honda and drive off. as we drive its kinda quiet until liz speaks, " We also have to pick up Maria and Lilly Kay."

"All right sounds good." I reply

We stop at Lilly's house first and then pick up Maria. we all compliment each other how we look and then head to Jason's house.

" Hey we might run into some cute Boys at the party!" Maria says mischievously. I laugh at her expression so does Lizzy and  Lilly.

" Senors are usually hot." says Lizzy

"yeah, but there's also gonna be Juniors like us!" says Maria happily.

" aw, does Maria have her eyes on someone?" I say smiling

" maybe I do " Maria proudly replies.

We get there and find a lot of cars and a huge house with music playing and people all around. A "wow" escapes my mouth and Maria agrees.

I feel kinda weird not knowing anyone when we enter the house. Lizzy says she feels small. I agree with her silently. Lilly says she recognises a few people from our grade and some from the same classes. Then Maria notices a guy named Josh. I nudge Lizzy and we laugh.

"hey Maria, Maybe you should go talk to Josh." She blushes when she snaps out of her daze.

" come on, he's really cute. and I think he's single." I say

" Really" her face suddenly brightening. " It's just I'm so shy, and i don't know what to say, or start a conversation." says Maria

" just say hi, and then ask what do you think about this party, with a smile. then go from there." I say trying to give my best advice, even though i have never talked to a guy, I'm shy myself so its easier said then done.

" all right! Ill go."

" Ya!" We all say pushing her toward his direction.

The three of us watch as Maria approaches Josh. Josh has a bright smile and you can see them talking. were not close enough to hear but we can tell its going good. They keep smiling at each other and laughing so that's a grate sign. I'm so happy for Maria, i do hope the two of them could get together. I think they would make a cute couple. That's when it hits me, My whole life I Haven't thought of guys for myself. I did have crushes but never real emotions. I have always been thinking about other people and their thought for guys. I finally realize all i want is someone to love. My heart has been aching this.

Lilly notices my expression and asks if I am okay.

"yeah, I'm fine, just thinking"

Lillly's face turns to a big smile.

"what?" i ask

"OH nothing, just wondering what you were thinking about." she says still smiling.

"Nothing, just wondering if i'll find some cute guy to flirt with." I say half lying

" ooh, does Jane feel flirty?" teases Lizzy

" Well, kinda."  I say with a big grin.

"come on lets go guy hunting" jokes Lilly, while we stumble laughing behind her.
