It's been four days, I haven't been able to look at Mr. Perez without trembling. My palms would start to sweat, and I could hear my heart beat through my ears. One time, it was all of us, Mr. Perez and Marcelena, all in one room. Mr. Perez was speaking in fluent Spanish with Marcelena, I don't know what about, but it was sending me off edge. His heavy accent made him roll his R's beautifully.

Mr. Perez seems to still be living in oblivion to the fact I'm getting these strange feelings. Everything he does catches my attention. I know this is his house, but walking around without a shirt isn't really helping me. But of course I can't tell him how I feel to stop him, knowing he'd probably be disgusted. Which is why I'm trying my hardest to keep this to myself. Although, it gets hard with the dreams I've been having. Everyone gets worse. I wake up surrounded by sweat puddles, sometimes I'm not even in my bed anymore. And the sad part is, I don't remember what happens.

"Mariah! It's time for breakfast."

"O-O-Ok-kay..." I hollered, finding a nee way to do my hair. I was bored with it, so I did two braids. Kind of like the way Mr. Lopez wears his hair.

I finished putting on my uniform and walked out my room. Mr. Perez's door was left wide open, and no one was up here. My mind wondered thinking of all the beautiful treasures and keepsakes that lingered in the man's bedroom. So, I entered. I didn't know what the hell I was looking for, but I just searched. I opened drawers and shoe boxes. I even looked underneath his bed, which was very messy. Lastly, I snooped through his bathroom. There was a jewelry stand that had a collection of necklaces, rings and varieties of braclets. I dug through every piece.

"Mariah! What are you doing? We're gonna be late!"

"I-I-I'll b-be d-d-do-down..."

That's when I saw a cross necklace. It was a simple chain, with a small cross. The cross also appeared tarnished.

"Mariah, now!"

"C-C-Co-Coming!"

I threw it around my neck, hiding it under my shirt. I quickly shut off the lights, hid all evidence that I was here and trotted downstairs. Into the kitchen I went, where Mr. Perez stood by the counter. In his hand was his morning coffee, which was followed by two pieces of gum.

"You ready now? What were you doing?"

"I-I-I h-h-ha-ha-had t-t-to f-f-fi-fi-fix m-my h-h-ha-hair..."

He looked up from his magazine and looked at me, a smile forming at his perfect pink lips. His pearly white teeth showing clearly as day. I blushed, waiting to hear what he had to say.

"Wow Mariah, you look beautiful. Did you do this?"

I nodded and he walked over to me, checking out my braids. I smelled his body wash as he ran his fingers through my braids. I swear, my body tingled.

"Y-Y-Ye-Yes..."

I know it's wrong to have these weird feelings for an older man, but it's not like he knows. And just as long as I don't act out on my emotions, I should be fine.

"That's cute for you. You should wear your hair like this more often."

I smiled and he closed the magazine he was investigating.

"Well....grab something to eat, cause we're late."
