❊❘June 20th 2031❘❊

It was a sunny summer day, the sun beating down on the citizens of New York. It was supposed to reach nearly ninety degrees today. Nobody minded, especially after the harsh winter they all had. Life was beautiful, especially for young Mariah, who was enjoying her sweet company with her boyfriend, Trevor. Since school was finally out, and over for Trevor, they could start spending more time together, and focus on where they were headed. Mariah was only seventeen, but was going to be a senior. Trevor was nineteen and was planning to attend college, in Pennsylvania.

Ever since Mariah awoke from her coma, she hadn't heard from the demon, formally known as Kroni. He was a demon that had the power to take any appearance he wanted, but usually preferred to replicate that of his victim's loved ones. Through his appearance, he would take that person's thought process, and sometimes speach. After having finish with Chresanto, he thought to attack his daughter, which would've worked, had Mariah's sub-conscience not came and coined her father as her guardian angel, to save and protect her. From that day on, Kroni hasn't been back to bother her, but has his next victim in mind...

Mariah and Trevor were up in her room, and had been there for a good while that day. At first, it was an innocent conversation, that turned into play fighting. Trevor was winning, but Mariah wouldn't give up.

"You're not gonna win, so you might as well give up." He laughed, holding her arms together. She giggled before wrapping her legs around his waist and trying to flip them over. She got on top and yanked her arms out his grip, grabbing his wrists.

"Ha, ha, ha. Pinned you!" She mocked in his face, a victorious grin on her's. By now, Mariah had overcame her stuttering problem, but whenever she grew overwhelmed she would fumble over her words every now and then.

Trevor let her flip them over, because he felt that she deserved a chance to feel stronger than him. He laughed at her, and waited in the midst of her celebrating to grab her face and pull her down, attacking her soft lips. They both had their eyes closed, in pure bliss over being connected with each other, emotionally. Most kids at their school envied their relationship, because they were so perfect for each other.

The kiss, turned more into a war for dominace. They were lip-locking for a while, but were soon interrupted, when Jacob knocked and opened Mariah's door.

"Ahem..."

The two separated at the sound of his voice, feeling quite embarrased. Even though, they were "technically" adults, Mariah was still living under Jacob's roof. She knew she had to abide by his rules, which meant no girl on boy contact, whenever he wasn't around.

"Oh...hey dad." Mariah said, fixing her dress. Jacob sighed deeply, regaining his calm composure, before beginning to ask his question.

"Which one looks better?"

He was referring to the two different cake toppers in his hands. Since Angela was busy with the wedding planner, she couldn't approve, so he went to his other female source. Mariah scanned over the toppers, thinking hard before going with the one that had the ribbon.

"I like that one." She pointed, and Jacob held it up.

"Are you sure?"

"Yup." She nodded with a smile, twitching her nose. The hoop nose ring she had itched.

"Alright, then I'll use this one, and probably give away the other one." Jacob said, about to leave.

"Why do you have two anyway?" Mariah asked curiously. Trevor sat back, his arm around Mariah's neck.

"Angela originally couldn't choose between five, but I told her to narrow it down to only two. So she made me pick."

"You ready for the wedding?" Trevor spoke for the first time sine Jacob bursted in the room.
