When I opened my eyes, I noticed I was in a hospital bed. There was an I.V. In my left arm. My head hurt a lot, I must have been in an accident or something. My parents and Aaliyah walked in and smiled at me knowing I was okay. They said I was on a ledge and it cracked and I fell into a waterfall. I wonder how I got there.
"Someone is outside waiting for you!" Aaliyah said smiling. She left the room and came back with a girl. When she saw me, she immediately ran over to me and held my hand. She started talking about how it was all her fault and that it should have been her, but I had no idea what she was talking about. She looked worried, bags were under her eyes. She was pretty, really pretty. She kept talking and eventually her eyes filled with tears of joy, I think. She intertwined our fingers and I still didn't know who she was. I wanted to tell her but she seemed so happy.
"Shawn?" She said looking into my eyes. I had to tell her.
"Sorry, but who are you?" I asked her and her smile faded.
"What do you mean?" She said tearing up like she about to cry.
"I don't know who you are, should I?" I said trying not to bring her to tears. That didn't help she just sobbed and sobbed. And sobbed. Aaliyah took her out of the room for 'fresh air' and I was left with my parents. They looked sad as well, my mom came and sat next to me.
"You really don't know who that was?" She said about to cry as well.
"I don't, who is she?" I said trying to hold back tears, I didn't even know I was holding back.
"That's Emilia, your girlfriend" she laughed and sniffled "well not technically your girlfriend yet"
"I have a girlfriend? But no one at school likes me." I said just remembering yesterday the guys yelled at me for not doing their homework.
"What day is it Shawn?" My mom asked me now worried.
"It's August 1st, its almost my birthday!" I said which made my mom cry, my dad came to her and hugged her. She took her outside so now it was just my dad.
"Today is August 7th" he said standing next to my bed.
"Why can't I remember?" I said and started crying. My dad comforted me and said everything would be okay.
"Well I think that's because you hit your head and something's messed up in there" he said pointing to my head.
"Well more of a mess than what it already is" he said and that made me laugh.
