As I went to the game closet, I picked out my favorite games. So if Emilia wanted to pick the game I wouldn't mind which one she picked. I raced back to the living room, ready to play a game. When I walked into the room, Emilia's eyes lit up. I set the games down and told her to choose a game. She was eyeing the games and then her eyes set on my favorite game.
"Monopoly!" we said in unison, then began laughing that we read eachothers minds. I grabbed the game and put the others back. When I returned she already had the game set up and was sorting the money. I looked down at her shocked. She must have seen my face.
"What?! I just assumed I'd be the banker." She said laughing. Giving me a look, that I could not laugh at.
"I am always the banker." I said giving her an 'obviously' face. She dropped the money from her hands and moved. Then I reached for the race car.
"Nah ah! Banker picks last." She said while moving my hand from the piece. I frowned at her handing the starting amount of money. I was worried she would choose the race car, but she chose the thimble instead.
"Ok, so I go first because you're the banker." She said with a grin.
"Hey! That's not fair!" I said and she just laughed.
"You wanted to be the banker." She said raising her hands in the air, she does that a lot. After hours of playing Monopoly still no one had won.
"How can you miss the boardwalk every time!" I said in stress since this game has taken longer than expected. All Emilia did was laugh, she was enjoying this.
"How can you sit this long without doing anything?!" I groaned.
"I've learned that staying still is sometimes actually nice." She said smiling at me. Oh the way she smiled at me, melted my heart.
"How can you say that?!" I said jumping up to my feet, I could barely keep still sitting down.
"It's comfortable, the silence." She said zoning out. I had to wave my hands in her face to get her attention. She snapped out of and looked a t me.
"I assume you cannot sit down." She said trying to sound serious, but her laugh gave her away.
"I see how it is." I said with a grin, walking closer to her.
"Oh no, what are you going to do?" She said laughing but also worried, she started moving backwards. She ran into the coffee table and almost fell, but i luckily caught her. I picked her up over my shoulder, and started walking to the backyard.
"Put me down Mendes!!" she yelled and laughed, hitting my back with her tiny fists. I opened the screen door to the backyard. My dad fixed up the pool yesterday so I know there's water in it.
"Oh no, do you by any chance have a pool?" She said now trying to get out of my grasp.
"Maybe" I said and then threw her into the pool. It was about 70 degrees out and the pool is heated so it wasn't cold. But she didn't come back to the surface.
