***A/N gratuitous smut ahead...also Carol Ann warning. I feel she deserves her own disclaimer. ***

Morning comes, and so does our inevitable meeting with Carol Ann and Warner Brothers. This is it. Goodbye Buckingham Nicks...hello future. Whatever that may be. Dropping Sara off at Robin's is a bit more of an ordeal today, Stevie grinning like a Cheshire cat the whole time. "You two have any plans?" Robin shrugs, "What do you think Munchkin? Wanna go to the park?" Sara swings on Robin's hand "Okay". Smiling she gestures to Sara "Plans" Stevie hugs her friend and we both kiss Sara goodbye. The ride to Rosen's office a silent and tense one.

We head in hand in hand, a united front to all concerned. We can't back down now, no matter how much I hate this. Stevie's right. One way or another our lives are going to change, I'd rather it be on our own terms. The hallway is brightly lit, a lone doorway casting a shadow as we approach. A leather dress shoe sticks out of the corridor and I see me...well not me. spirit me. I do a double take and he's gone. Shit.

The door opens and instead of an intimidating board room and a long glass table I hear something I've not heard in a long time. Frozen Love, on full blast and a massive man with long wild hair jamming in the corner. It'd be hilarious if we weren't here to discuss our future, and give Carol and Princeton the old heave ho.

The man turns around and I feel a slight twinge of familiarity, his face lights up his voice booming as he stretches his hand out "Lindsey Buckingham! The one and only, how are you mate?" mate? Tall, beard, long hair...Mick! I break into a genuine smile grabbing his hand tightly "Mick, how goes it buddy?" we greet each other warmly, London seeming like a lifetime ago. He looks as regal as the last time I saw him, brocade vest, and patent leather shoes accented with a large opal ring and a cane fit for royalty bedecked with jewels.

There's another less exuberant looking fellow in the corner, long hair and a beard too. But he looks at us both graciously. Standing he extends his hand to Stevie first his eyes twinkling with warmth "I'm John McVie" Mick rests his hand over his heart in embarrassment "I'm so sorry, this is Johnny McVie my right hand man and best mate." Mick smiles at Stevie a bit too long reaching for her hand, she laughs extending her own to him. He kisses the back in a courtly manner "You must be the radiant Stevie Nicks I've heard so much about. Enchanted my dear." He chuckles, and I take Stevie's other hand a touch of possessiveness seeping into my conscious.

A blond woman walks in glass of wine in hand she looks around the room "What happened to the music? Mick have you gone and broke another needle?" Mick looks aghast "Me?" she settles her eyes on us and she smiles politely "You didn't say we had guests, Christine McVie" we shake hands and she gestures to the catering table "Wine?" we both decline and she lifts her eyebrow "Don't tell me you two are teetotalers?" laughing Stevie wrings her hands nervously "No, I'm pregnant though...so no wine. Not for nine months anyway".

She gives us a knowing wink "Aw" I'm confused, this was supposed to be a meeting with Warner "So-I take it the two of you heard the news?" Mick pours himself a scotch John does the same. "Er...not really." Sipping his beverage Mick rests a hand in the pocket of his vest "Well, wouldn't want to step on the debut! Say Lindsey, how'd you get that guitar part on Frozen Love to sound I don't know just so rough?" always eager to discuss music me and Mick delve into my technique as he air drums along with my diction.

The door to the office opens again and Rosen walks in, the Warner attorney along with Carol and her entourage in tow. The party like atmosphere drops, and Carol's face immediately fractures into a grimace, she cuts her eyes icily to Stevie then me taking a seat at the conference table. The rest of us gather around taking seats as Rosen stands at the head of the table.

"I'm sure you're all wondering why we've called you here." Carol shifts in her seat glaring at Stevie. She glares right back "Well, I think it's with a heavy heart that we have to announce the dissolution of Buckingham Nicks as a recording duo..." Carol fumes slamming her hand on the table "I didn't authorize this, they have to clear shit like that with me first" Rosen raises his hand quickly "Actually Ms. Harris, it says quiet clearly in section sixteen of their contract that they can, at their own discretion, dissolve their union with Princeton so long as they agree that they will no longer perform under the name Buckingham Nicks again."
