The bell rang and Kevin offered again to push me to the gates but I declined. He walked with me though and everything was hunky dory until those group of boys from English walked up to me.
"Hey guys look, it's the cripple," said a guy.
"Yeah. She's a freak. Why are you such a freak, Freak?" said another one.
They taunted me until I couldn't take it no more and water spilled down my cheeks in salty paths of depression. Kevin tried to stop them but it didn't work. They kept calling me names.
They did leave but only after Miss Carter walked onto the courts.
A little while later, Amy showed up. She said hi to Kevin and thanked him for looking after me.
Amy wheeled me to the front of the school, away from everyone.
Mum came to pick us up and she wheeled me into the back of the car.
I didn't move the entire ride. I sat there like a rock with no emotions and didn't even play with Jessy, Amy's class hamster whose staying at our house for this week.
My heart is as cold as stone. My phone pings and I have the urge to pick it up and check who it's from.
The notification is still on my screen as my eyes flick down to look at it.
It's from Kevin.
I picked up my phone and scrambled to my messages. I clicked on his name and read the one word illuminated in green against the white background.
