It was Saturday already and I'd spent the last week trying not to spoil Kevin's gift.
Mum had driven me in the van all the way to Kevin's place. My heart was thudding, wondering if Kevin will like the gift.
Mum helped me out of the van and rang the doorbell.
A lady about Mum's age opened the door.
"Hi, I'm Carol," she said. She looked at me and her grin grew. "You must be Coco, nice to meet you. Kevin's told me so much about you."
I blushed crimson and Mum wheeled me inside.
Kevin spotted me instantly and waved me over.
I looked up at Mum and she nodded, so I wheeled myself over to him and left my Mum to talk with Kevin's Mum.
"Hey Coco," he said excitedly.
'Hey' I scribbled on my board.
"Is that my gift?" he asked, gesturing to the parcel on my lap.
I nodded.
My heart thudded once again as I picked up the parcel and handed it to him.
