It's Sunday morning and Amy made fresh pancakes. Ooo, they smell so good!
I wheel myself outta my room and into the kitchen. The pancakes are steaming on the plates and are covered with gooey maple syrup and fresh strawberries.
Carlos is already at the table in his dinosaur pyjamas. Mum and Dad are both at a book-store sale (it's those really early morning ones) and so Amy's babysitting.
"These look so good!" says Carlos, looking greedily at his plate.
"Now, now Carlos, wait for Coco," Amy replies, making room for me at the table. I wheel myself to the table and dig in.
I feel so full right now! It feels incredibly wonderful to be stuffed with delicious pancakes, gooey syrup and fruit.
I wonder what Kevin's doing. Should I invite him over? Maybe...
That's when my phone goes off. Amy answers it for me as I had left it on the couch last night and says a jolly 'hello' into the microphone.
"It's Kevin," she says, covering the microphone and walking over to me.
My heart flips. I motion for her to keep talking.
"Hi Kevin."
Amy pauses and replies, "Just a sec," then turns to me. "He wants to come over."
I nod confidently and she smiles back.
"Sure Kevin, you can come over."
Amy invites him to come over at 2:00 and he happily agrees.
