The morning began cold. It wasn't really unusual for Forks at this time of the year. The paths were icy and I knew Bella would slip. Uncoordinated plus ice equals disaster. Charlie pulled up to the house in the truck as Bella and I exited the house. She walked in front of me, slipping over, almost knocking into me. Charlie had gotten out of the truck, rushing over to her.
"Are you alright?" He questioned, crouching down to help her up as I laughed at her.
"Yeah, I'm good," she reassured, brushing herself off as she stood. "Ice doesn't really help the uncoordinated."
"Nothing helps the uncoordinated, sweetie," I muttered, patting her back. We continued to walk.
"Yeah. That's why I had some new tires put on the truck," Charlie explained, gesturing towards the truck. "The old ones were getting really bald," he added.
"Thanks," I spoke, interrupting the awkward silence that fell, Bella deciding not to say anything (so completely the same as always). He sent me a grateful smile.
"Well, I'll probably be late for dinner," he told us. "Gotta head down to Mason County. A security guard at the Grisham mill got killed by some kind of animal." I gasped.
Bella frowned, "An animal?"
"You're not in Phoenix anymore, Bells," Charlie responded. "Anyway, I figured I'd lend a hand."
"Be careful."
"Yeah, stay safe." I gave him a weak smile.
"Will do," Charlie reassured. He began to walk to his car. I followed suit and began to walk to the passenger side of the truck.
"And thanks for the tires," Bella called out. Charlie nodded, muttering something before he continued on. I jumped into the passenger seat and waited for Bella to begin to drive.

Bella and I arrived at school, Forks having it's usual rainy weather. I groaned in annoyance before I grabbed the umbrella out of my bag, shielding myself from the rain as I walked into the school, leaving Bella behind. Eric decided to join me, talking to me about prom. I silently listened as we approached the biology classroom. Soon we were there and he was still talking as I hung my umbrella up.
"Prom Committee is a chick thing but-" he began, making me raise my eyebrows.
"What? Chick thing?" I questioned. "First off, no one says 'chick' anymore and two Prom Committee is a whoever thing. Now proceed," I finished. He stared at me for a second before he shook his head and continued to speak.
"I got it covered for the paper anyway, and they need a guy to help choose the music, so I need your playlist," he explained, making me nod. I told him 'okay', the conversation ending.
