I was upstairs in my room watching a movie when Bella called me down. 

"What's the matter?"I questioned.

"Someone's been here," she explained.

"You mean..." 

"A vampire, yes," Edward replied. 

"How long have you been home?" Bella asked. 

"I got in just before you," I told. "Paul wanted to hang out when you were with Jake, he dropped me home like five minutes before you got here."

"Come with us," Edward ordered, driving us to his house. 

We sat around in their living room. 

"Who was it? Someone we know?" Carlisle questioned. 

"Just a stranger. I didn't recognize his scent,"  Edward answered.

"A nomad passing through?" Esme suggested.

"A passer-by wouldn't have left their father alive," Rosalie voiced. 

"His scent disappeared about five miles south of their house," Jasper informed as he entered the room. 

"Someone's orchestrating this," Carlisle spoke. 

"Victoria?" Bella asked. 

"I would've seen her decide," Alice told. 

"It has to be the Volturi," Edward theorised.

"I don't think it's the Volturi either. I've been watching Aro's decisions, too," Alice revealed. 

"So we keep looking," Emmett proposed. 

"We also take shifts, guarding Bella and Sky at their house," Edward instructed.

"Another protection detail?" Rosalie questioned. 

"Rosalie," Carlisle warned. 

"No, she's right. You can't protect us, watch my dad and search for the intruder-" Bella listed. 

"And for Victoria," Rosalie interrupted. 

"And keep yourselves fed," Bella finished. 

"I'm a multi-tasker and even I think that's too much to do," I quipped. 

"I'm not leaving you here defenceless," Edward argued. 

"Well, I'm not gonna let you starve," Bella retorted. "And we wouldn't be unprotected. We have..." Bella trailed off.

"What?"

"She's hinting at the wolves, dumbass," I spoke up. 

"Language, Skylar," Esme scolded.
