remember how we used to walk the streets after midnight,
fingers interlocked like the last two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle

running down the empty roads,
screaming and singing our hearts out and eyes shining with happiness and love for each other

remember when we climbed the red bricked buildings,
sitting high blending in with the night sky, feet swinging beneath us

laughing way past the early hours, until the night would die, for we knew it was the exact opposite of the love that we had

remember why we hugged each other tight, like we was too scared to let go,
arms wrapped firmly around shaking shoulders

tears falling on soft cotton, but it was always okay, we knew we was better together than we were facing this world alone

remember who you used to think about when you was with me,
your fingers didn't wrap as tightly around my knuckles anymore

throwing side glances every time you saw her, leaving me so close besides you, but feeling like you was the safe ground, and i was just a distant cloud

i don't remember everything we did,
but i remember the feelings,
and wishing i could forget,

just like you did.

- i will never forget.
