there is so much s p a c e
between us lately
like the distance between your thumb and my forefinger
our hands don't fold as closely together these days
there used to be s t a r s
in your eyes
like every light from the night sky
present all at once
they shined down on me, on us, on all the now forgotten plans
there was the light from the m o o n
in your mind
like a great sphere reminding me you were always there
illuminating incandescent embers on your incredible ideas
now i feel as though g r a v i t y
has left the world
left us
leaving us with nothing but empty
s p a c e
as we float endlessly about
no route no plans
there are too many g a l a x i e s
between our hearts
so when mine beats for you
you barely hear it calling
that's all there is in this
u n i v e r s e
in which you once was
but now i'm left with nothing
and there is
too
much
s p a c e
- the galaxies that separate us.
