Cassandra had sent a message to Aloysius, asking him to spare one of his useless rogues as a distraction. She needed the Alpha to be very far away from this house if her plan was going to work.
And work it shall.
After hearing the office door close and sensing the Alpha's presence pass where she was, Cassandra exited the bathroom and made her way back to Alison.
She was only one step closer to destroying the ever-perfect blonde and she couldn't be happier about it on the inside.
Step three, break her heart.
This was going to be the tricky part. How was she going to make Alison believe that Nick didn't want her?
"Oh hey, you're back!" Alison's voice greeted her.
Something about the tone of her voice had made Cassandra doubt what she was doing for a second. It felt like regret. But she recovered quickly.
"Yeah, sorry I took so long. Where's Alpha Nick?" Cassandra asked.
"He had to go away on some pack matters, so it's just you and me now," Alison replied half-heartedly.
"Well then, I kind of wanted to explore the pack mansion a little bit. The place already looks great from the outside!"
"That's great, I could give you a t–"
"I was thinking I could explore around on my own. That would be more fun," Cassandra interrupted, all smiles.
"Oh, I see. Um, I guess Nick wouldn't mind that," Alison spoke dejectedly.
"Of course he wouldn't!" Cassandra exclaimed and laughed. As if she knew something Ali didn't.
"Yeah, okay. I'll be in my room then, if you need me," she said, exiting the room.
Cassandra didn't reply. Alison closed the door behind her and found Henry, her previous bodyguard, standing right outside.
"Henry, would you keep an eye on Miss Jameson? Make sure she doesn't get lost around the house?" she requested.
"Of course," he nodded.
Alison smiled her thanks and went back to her room. She decided that if she wanted to mend her friendship with Cassie, she would first have to show that she trusted her.
She just hoped that her trust hadn't been misplaced.
Greeting Snuggles upon entering her room, Alison flopped down on the bed.
Negativity was crawling its way to her heart and Alison couldn't help but feel like something bad was going to happen soon.
It was an inexplicable feeling that took control of her emotions.
Alison was panting as she sat up, feeling like her airway was being constricted by this odd negativity. It felt burdensome.
Slowly, her breathing returned back to normal but it left her feeling fatigued.
"Goddess, what was that?" she whispered to the empty room.
Failing to find an explanation within the confines of her mind, she crawled under the covers and laid her head on her soft pillow comfortably.
She had never felt this tired before, and it had only been two in the afternoon.
There wasn't anything else she could do around here anyway.
Nick was out being an Alpha. Elsie wasn't here and Ali was simply too tired to go around looking for her.
Sighing to herself, Alison decided it would be wise to take a quick nap seeing that Nick had been rather serious when he said he wanted to ask her something later on. She was certain that she would need her energy for that.
