Ali had moved her stuff into the guest room opposite of Nick's room. She was reluctant at first, still adamant on finding out why Nick 'couldn't have her'. But when she had remembered what Jess had said about the other girls, she felt like she needed to leave his room instead of wanted it.
Snuggles followed her around for the entire day as she unpacked her things and moved her clothes into the walk-in closet. He would just look at her with his blue eyes and lick his paws, Ali had thought it was the cutest thing ever as she reached down to scratch his head. Chuckling, Ali continued to move more stuff from her bag and into the room, putting some of the picture frames she brought from home on the dresser and nightstand.
The room was big, but small compared to Nick's. Ali just couldn't get his name out of her mind, no matter how much she wanted to.
Picking up the last of her items - her most treasured ballet shoes - she put them in the drawer of the nightstand and finally declared the room done and hers. She had put her own personal touch to the room with her pictures and drawing the curtains to allow more light. It felt brighter and livelier.
Later today, Elsie was going to show her around the pack territory and bring her to the mall to get some stuff. She was excited. Ali has never been out into the open world. She had only been to the dance studio near the pack house.
When Elsie had heard that, she demanded that she got to bring Ali out tomorrow, claiming that, "Ali's lack of experience could get her killed one day, what if she couldn't tell the difference between H&M and Topshop? The world would end right there!"
Ali was pretty sure the words 'Drama Queen' had passed through everybody's minds at that moment. But nevertheless, Ali was getting a chance to go out and see things for the first time today.
She had put on a thick, grey turtleneck and a wine red, velvet skater skirt, along with some black tights and a pair of Uggs Elsie insisted she wore. It was going to be cold today and Ali wanted to be prepared since they were going to be out.
Grabbing her coat, Ali exited the room and closed the door behind her. She turned around and was met with Nick, who had just left his room too.
When their eyes met, he gave her a small smile. A smile that made Ali's breath hitch a little before she remembered the girls, and that felt like a bucket of cold water.
She had returned the smile for two seconds before it dropped and hurt flashed through her eyes. He could tell what she was thinking about and shame once again hit him hard.
Ali was the first to look away from the staring contest as she turned and walked down the hallway, away from her mate. She was getting all flustered just by staring at him and it was not helping her.
She was still disappointed, but she wasn't angry or upset. Alison understood that an Alpha has needs three times more powerful than an average werewolf. Although she didn't like it, she could understand why Nick didn't wait.
After all, she hadn't expected an Alpha to be her mate. She had also not expected for him to neither reject nor accept her for some unknown reason.
"Hey Ali! You ready to go?" Elsie greeted as she hooked arms with Ali.
"I'm all set!" she replied with equal enthusiasm.
She was excited. Going out into the world felt like an adventure to her. Today, she'd get to see the malls and different kinds of shops she expected a mall to have. Alison had never shopped before.
With Elsie beside her, she was definitely going to change that because Elsie swore she would make Ali try on everything in her favorite shops.
Ali didn't know if it was a good or bad idea, but she was going to find out in a matter of hours.
