Knuckles was on Angel Island guarding the master emerald as usual until one day during his routine he saw Sonic (wearing a bright yellow sleeveless top with capris with a bonus he was wearing sandals with mini sunflowers on it and a regular size sunflower on his head behind his ear) running towards Knuckles. Sonic looked happy today than usual and Knuckles tried to act like his usual self but but can't help but think that he's very happy to see him. He thought he looked cute with that sunflower on his head he always had a big crush on Sonic but want to admit it. Sonic giggled as he stopped running and walked up the stairs. Knuckles always wanted to tell him but he was always so shy around him until today things changed. Sonic finally made his way up towards Knuckles and said as he blushed and smiled, hey....uumm....how are you doing? Knuckles didn't hesitate he said as he also blushed, oh well....uummmm...I'm okay but there's something I...wanted...to....tell.....you for a while. Sonic was smiling with joy as he asked, really? What is it? Knuckles you can tell me anything I'm your closet friend. Knuckles began to tell him, well...you see I... what I meant is I really have.... before Knuckles can finish he was interrupted by a dark and obsessive voice, JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING ECHIDNA?! It was Shadow appearing right in front of the pair. Sonic was angered and scared at the same time and said, GET LOST FAKER!! I TOLD YOU I AM NOT GOING WITH YOU I AM NOT YOUR PROPERTY AND I DON'T WANT TO BE YOURS FAKER!!!! Shadow was not pleased as he smirked and said as he growled, YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM ME THAT EASILY DIDN'T YOU?! WELL GUESS WHAT BABE I'M NOT LETTING YOU OUTTA MY SIGHT AND I WON'T BE LETTING YOU GO THAT EASILY!!! Knuckles was shocked to see Sonic so completely terrified and what he said was true Sonic never like Shadow that way. As Shadow attempted to grab Sonic by the arm Knuckles punched him as he stood in front of Sonic and said as Knuckles glared at him, YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU SICK EVIL MONSTER!!! Then turned to Sonic and said, Sonic run get outta here!!! Sonic was paralyzed but obeyed Knuckles and took off running. But Shadow didn't want to let him get away that easily he used chaos control to transport to the location he was at. Knuckles shouted, OH SHOOT HE'S GOING RIGHT STRAIGHT AFTER SONIC DARN YOU SHADOW!!! Meanwhile Sonic was still running away from Shadow but the red and. black hedgehog unfortunately caught up with him. He pushed Sonic to the ground and pinned him down completely. Sonic struggled as hard as he could but Shadow had a good grip and started tying him up with a really strong rope. Sonic shouted as he tried to get himself free, STOP THIS ALREADY PLEASE!! LET GO OF ME RIGHT NOW!!! Shadow smacked Sonic across the face and shouted as he yanked on Sonics arm, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT I DON'T WANT THAT ANNOYING ECHIDNA AROUND KNOWING WHERE YOU ARE!! Then a familiar voice yelled outta nowhere, SHADOW THAT'S ENOUGH YOU LET SONIC GO RIGHT NOW!!! Shadow was not very pleased as he saw Knuckles coming outta nowhere then Shadow threw the tied up hedgehog so hard that his sunflower on his head fell off. Shadow yelled, THAT DOES IT I HAD ENOUGH OF YOU ECHIDNA!! TIME TO SETTLE THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! Knuckles was angered as he growled at the emo hedgehog and they started to fight. Sonic stood up and looked in terror as the fight began. But fortunately Knuckles was wining although he did obtain some minor injuries as Shadow fell Knuckles stood up. Sonic ran towards him and kneeled down as he said in tears, Knuckles are you okay? I'm so sorry I got you involved in this Shadow was obsessed with me he couldn't stay away from me and I was so scared of him I... Knuckles whispered as he put a finger on his lips, ssshh.... it's okay Sonic I'm not mad. The echidna started to untie him as he said,
More importantly are you alright he didn't hurt you did he? Sonic nodded as he revealed his swollen cheek to Knuckles. He gasped as he finished untying Sonic and then it happened Sonic whispered as he cried on the echidnas chest, I'm really scared Knuckles. Knuckles picked up Sonic in his arms as he stood up again. As Knuckles walked away from the passed out and beaten Shadow carrying the crying hedgehog he whispered, it will be okay Sonic besides I wanted to protect you and I love you. Sonic blushed as Knuckles said the word love. Sonic was so happy to hear that as he whispered still in tears, I love you too Knuckles. The echidna was happy that Sonic loved him as well as he wiped off Sonics tears away. A little while later when they got back to the shrine Sonic fell asleep on the echidnas lap while resting his head on Knuckles shoulder and Knuckles was smiling aa he held his new sweetheart in his arms and the sunset was very beautiful behind them.
