Have I lost my friends? I know Lexi isn't talking to me but Angela too? When I approached Angela yesterday after school she was acting all irritated with me, it a obvious that she wanted me to leave. What is with them? At least I know what Lexi's problem is but Angela? I just can't believe little shy Angela is shunning me.
Right now literally the only positive thing in my life right now is Conner. But the thing is I had to choose by either keeping Lexi or keeping Conner, I was freaking out. And to think I thought Lexi would understand! But she just freaked.
Right now i'm at my new job. Yes, now I work as a cashier and inventory at Mini-Mart. To tell the truth I just saw the help wanted sign and went inside not expecting to get hired, but apparently they were desperate. When I got the job they told me to start right away, so here I am. I'm at the register and i'm wearing a drab ugly red and gray uniform with name tag the says 'Hi, i'm Lola'. Apparently this place's attitude is friendly, and the motto is 'The customer is always right'. Man everyone in this place is so happy, it makes me feel uncomfortable. Well I guess their all just trying to keep their jobs, we have to be happy all the time. The manager says it makes the customers feel like their in a warm, happy environment, but to me it's more like a weird, freaky environment. So of course I have to play in their little act in order to keep this job. But as soon as were keeping up with the rent I am going to quit this place.
I was at the cash register checking people out when of all people guess who comes up to me: Aurymar, and Stacy.
"Well, look who it is." Aurymar says smirking.
"Wow, I didn't know you were that poor Lola. I guess you had to have some sort of job, I mean your always wearing all this tacky junk." Stacy said.
Why, of all people, did they have to come to come here? And I can't even show any defense because if I wanna keep this job I have to be happy and positive.
"Welcome to mini-mart!" I exclaimed. "Can I help you with anything?"
"Well we were just on our way to Lexi's house cause she's having a party." Aurymar explained. "Everybody's who anybody is gonna be there, of course you're going right?" she added sarcastically.
"I'm sorry but i'm afraid I didn't receive a invitation." I said positively.
"Of course you didn't." Stacy said.
"Were just here because Lexi asked us to pick up a few things." Aurymar said proudly.
That hurt. I usually was the one who went out with Angela to get a few thing for Lexi's parties. Aurymar knew this. Like I care that Lexi has replaced with Aurymar, so what? Plus, Lexi will get over it. I mean we've been best friends since pre-k. I can remember it like yesterday.
flashback:
When I first met Lexi we were about 5 and we were in the same class. The thing that happened was we were on a field trip at the science museum. There was this tube that was supposed to model a intestine. The tube was small enough for a 5 year old could fit in it. Our teacher was guiding us around the science museum and showed us it, then the teacher made us move on. But I was eyeing it cause I really had the urge to get in there.
"What are you doing?" A voice said behind me. It was Lexi.
"I wanna play in there." I said.
"But the teacher already left." Lexi said worried.
