Chapter 13: A night with the guys

Lola P.O.V 

I was checking people out at the cashier at Mini-mart.  

"Thank you dearie." A small elderly woman says as I give her, her bags. 

"No problem!" I say in a cheery voice.  

I check my watch and gratefully see that there's only a couple of minutes left in my shift, then I can finally leave!  

"Thanks for shopping at Mini-Mart! Have an extra terrific day!" I exclaim. The lady gives me a smile and walks out of the store. Just one more costumer! 

I take the next costumers things and start scanning them. 

"You are a very pretty cashier." A male voice says. "I would love to take you out tonight." 

"I'm sorry but I'm not single." I say finishing scanning the products and looking up. I see a familiar tan face with blond hair and blue eyes. 

"Conner!" I exclaim surprised. "What are you doing here?!" 

"Are you not happy to see me?" He asks jokingly with a smile. 

"Of course I am!" 

"Then it shouldn't matter why I'm here just that I am." Conner says with a smile.  

"Don't make me have to kick your ass." I joke. "Because I will!" 

"No you won't." 

"And why is that?" 

"Because you love me too much." Conner was looking at me with soft eyes. Right now if he asked me for anything I would probably give it to him. 

"You know so well." I say giving him a soft smile. "My shift is over so I can get out of here now." 

"Awesome because I have a special surprise for you." Conner say smiling evilly. 

What is he up to?

Lexi P.O.V 

I was in the battle zone. I need keen senses, I need to stay alert. I was crouching behind a black wall and there were dim lights all around me. It was quiet....too quiet. I decided to move somewhere else I didn't feel safe here. I was walking forward looking all around me when I heard a sound of footsteps. I immediately fell down on the ground behind a wall. I looked behind the wall to see if the coast was clear. That's when I was startled by the sound of a high alarm. I look down at my chest to see it was my vest. I've been hit. I hear a laughing behind me and I turn around to see Rick laughing his head off. 

"That was soooo not fair!" I complain. 

"It soooo was actually." Rick says still laughing. "You seriously are an amateur at this! You're not supposed to lose your guard especially behind you." 

I frown and stomp my foot like a toddler. Then I have realization and I smirk. 

"What?" Rick asks. I raise up my laser gun at him and he looks at me now terrified. "You wouldn't..." 

I gave him a bigger smirk enjoying his misery. "You're not supposed to lose your guard." I say with a huge smile on my face. I shoot him right in the middle of his chest which caused his alarm to go off.  

I burst out laughing. "Who's the amateur now Rick?" I ask him with a smirk on my face. 

"Alright, alright you got me." He says defeated. "But you're still the amateur."

"Whatever." I say rolling my eyes at his comment. 

"Hey don't get upset!" Rick says to me. "This you first time and you're actually pretty good."
