"Conner! Stop!" I screeched between giggles. Conner and I were watching TV when he just started tickling me frantically."What? Can't take a few tickles Lola?" Conner said jokingly.
"Please! It's starting to hurt now!" I screamed.
"Fine." Conner said giving in. I started breathing really heavily.
I got up from the couch and took my hot pink bag off the table.
"Where are you going?" Conner asked me.
"I'm leaving." I say.
"Why?"
"Because you tickled me too much and now i'm leaving you as a punishment." I joked.
"Aww." Conner whined. "But I wanted to hang out some more."
"Sorry but seriously though I have to get home." I say.
"But why? You always leave!" Conner says.
I bent over Conner and kissed him on the cheek.
"I'll see you tomorrow, OK?" I ask.
"Alright. Love you." Conner says as I walk to the door.
"Love you more!" I call out.
The real reason that I have to leave is because Elsi has a date tonight and I have to babysit. She's been going out with guy -Brian- for a while now and that meant I got less time with Conner. Conner doesn't know about Elsi or my little brothers and especially not my dad, so he has no idea why I keep leaving him so suddenly.
When I got to the house and opened the front door Elsi was sitting on the living room couch with the boys who were sprawled all over the couch sleeping soundly.
"Finally your here!" Elsi says relived.
Elsi looked really nice with her red dress and her hair in a neat bun.
"Sorry i'm kind of late." I apologize. "Time kind of got away for me at Conner's."
"Anyway, let's get the boys in bed upstairs so I can leave." Elsi says.
After carrying the boys in bed -two in each arm for each of us- Elsi got her purse and was ready to leave.
"Where is Brain taking you?" I ask Elsi.
"Red lobster." Elsi says. "The last time I went there was when my parents took me there after my graduation."
After Elsi said that her face fell. When Elsi's parents kicked her out she was crushed. The only reason they kicked her out was because they didn't want her living with them anymore. Elsi was actually a great kid. She got straight A's was always studying if her parents didn't kick her out she could have gone to college and had a bright future. But when they did Elsi couldn't pay for college or anything. My mom had took her in but she still couldn't pay for college. After my mom died Elsi had to get a job to support us. I feel really sorry for her.
"Hey, it's OK." I say patting Elsi's back.
"I know." Elsi says.
After Elsi left I spent my night sitting on my bed reading a book. Eventually I dozed off and was dreaming about a better life. A life where my mom was still here, my dad was loving, and Elsi had a great college life. An impossible dream.
