Your Point of View.

I looked at him with wide eyes.

"I didn't tell you to break up with her!" I quietly yelled at him, trying not create a scene in front of two hundred plus students. "I never told you to do that in the fucking first place."

"I understand what you're trying to say. I don't know if it's love or not but I want to find that out y/n. I have never felt this feeling before with anyone else, but you."

"Odell," I closed my eyes in frustration. "Please don't say that."

"Why can't I, y/n," he covered my lap with his hand. "Why can't I build something with you and only you?"

"Because I'm scared!" I confessed. "I'm scared to be in a relationship with you even though I like you a lot. I just can't be with you."

He sighed in defeat. "I respect you for standing up for your values, but I want to let you in on something."

Sighing, I gave up trying to fight with him.

He lightly trailed his calloused fingers on my lips before stopping abruptly in the middle.

"Even if it take me the rest of my life to prove to you that I care for you, then I will just have to do that. Y/n, you are one in a million and I just can't let you slip through my fingers without fighting for you," he shakes his head in determination. "I just can not stop fighting for you."

________

Four Years Later...

"I think you should go up to his job and tell him how you feel," my mother said on the other end of the line as I stood in one of the few lines at the grocery store. "You need to tell him what he's missing out on."

"I can't do that," I shook my head as the person in front of me put his items on the conveyor belt.

She just didn't understand that doing that was only going to cause me more trouble in the future.

"Why," she huffed in annoyance.

"You have every right to go up to his job and embarrass his ass in front of his co-workers. He deserves it after he got someone pregnant when he was supposed to be spending the rest of his life with you. "

"Mommy," I sighed, wanting to get my point across. "I just want to get past it and everyone that caused the pain in my heart."

Finding out that your fiancé was expecting a child with your best friend right before the wedding was a stab in the back from the both of them.

Michael was the love of my life and when he came clean from all of his lies at our rehearsal dinner, my world began crashing down.

Of all things, this was the worst news of my adult life.

"I don't care if it has only been a month since it all happen," she yelled at me. "The both better be glad that your father and I live in a different state because you know we're not afraid to whoop some ass for breaking my baby girl's heart."

Smiling just a little, my mother could put a smile on my face even if it was during a bad period in my life.

"I'll call you back," I told her as it was my turn in the long line. "I'm at the register."

"Alright baby," she replied before hanging up.

The cashier took the money from my hand with a raised eyebrow. "Will that be all?"

"Yes and thank you," I grabbed the ticket from her hand and started escorting my buggy to the parking lot.

Putting the plastic bags filled with groceries into my car, I suddenly heard footsteps coming closer to where I stood.
