Third Person Point of View.
Snapping away at her camera as R&B music seeped through her speakers and around her personal studio, Y/N watched as Odell and his on-and-off girlfriend looked at each other with longing and admiration.
"Don't you think that I'll never be there," Y/N hummed to one of her favorite 112 songs as she clicked away, doing the hobby that she grew to love and just a year ago, turned into her actual job.
"Now I want you guys to kiss," she demanded over the music as she got closer to get the shots that she wanted.
This was the pose that she dreaded the most, but had to do.
Y/N absolutely hated that he was kissing her, but at this point, it didn't matter how she felt. She was just a friend and not a love interest that she definitely wanted, but was too scared and insecure to dive into.
"You guys can get dress now," she told them as she uploaded the pictures onto her computer.
Tapping her fingers onto the keyboard of her laptop, it was after four o'clock in the afternoon, meaning that Odell was her last client of the day before she drove home to be lazy for the rest of the night and do it all over again the next day.
"You always seem to amaze me with these pictures," a deep, but soothing voice pulled Y/N from her thoughts.
"You don't have to lie to me just because we're friends," Y/N blushed as she started packing up her things as his large hands hover over the mouse, smiling at the millions of shots she took during their appointment time.
"Now you know I won't actually lie to you," he shook his head as she walked over to where he stood with her equipment bag slung over her shoulder. "When I say things, I actually mean them Y/N."
"I'm just saying," she held her hands up in the air in defeat. "So are we still on for Friday?"
They were planning on going to the movies to see the new movie, Avengers: Endgame and out to eat afterwards.
"I don't think I can make it," he thought about it for a minute before having a guilty look spread across his perfect face. "You know how Samantha gets when I hang out with you for long periods of time."
"Yeah," Y/N trailed off with a sadness laced in her voice, but of course, Odell was too naive to even notice it. She was disappointed, but not surprise because it was the sixth time that he canceled plans with Y/N for the girl he barely knew.
Y/N was beginning to feel neglected, but she stayed tightlipped about it. She didn't want to seem like the jealous friend when it was known that he had a girlfriend, but it was beginning to become hard to deal with.
She was tired and she wasn't going to worry about it any longer.
"What's going on over here?" Samantha made her way over to them with her heels making clicking sounds as she walked on Y/N's hardwood floors.
"Nothing you need to worry about. I was telling Y/N how great the photos look and how I had to cancel the movie night with her." Odell sighed, bringing her closer to him with his arms.
"Sounds good," she cooed while looking up at him with her hazel eyes. "If it's not too much, could you go fetch me some water, my throat is a little parched from taking all of those photos," she finished off while fanning her face with her hand.
"Sure," he complied before excusing himself, going over to the refreshment table that Y/N had set up in the back for her clients.
Turning their eyes from the backside of the man that they both loved, Y/N gave a small smile as she made eye contact with the eyes that were a shade lighter than hers.
"I think you should stay away from my boyfriend. We don't need you in our lives," Samantha went straight to the point with no hint of amusement coming from her side.
"Excuse me?"
Samantha smirked and gave the shorter girl in front of her an eye roll. "I do not have to answe-"
"Here's your water. What did I miss?" Odell interrupted, walking back over to the two women that was a huge part of his chaotic life.
"Nothing babe! I was telling Y/N that the photos are amazing!" his girlfriend said in a cheery voice, causing Y/N to give a eye roll this time.
"I have somewhere to be in an hour," Y/N lied as she heard the foolishness that came straight from the devil's mouth. Samantha's smile could fool a lot of people, but definitely not her.
"Do you have a date tonight?" Odell squinted his eyes in an accusing tone.
Y/N raised her eyebrows. "And what if I am?"
"So you weren't going to tell me about this so called date?" He thought about it for a minute before shaking his head. He didn't want to believe it and it was all over his face. "Who's the ugly ass nigga that is taking out my girl without my permission?"
"You're girl?" Samantha and Y/N both said as they held their heads back in confusion.
"Damn," Odell closed his eyes, realizing what had just came out of his mouth, but it was already too little, too late.
Shit was starting to hit the fan and no one was ready for it.
