Hey quick A/N before we start, this is 3rd person to the rest of the story, and I really hope nobody kills me at the end of this chapter, enjoy <3
Frank walked out of Ray's office, he couldn't find Cerberus anywhere and he was getting slightly worried. He walked back to Pete's house, the poor kid had heard him blab non stop for the past week about how heartbroken he was, he's pretty sure that the whole pack knew by now about the latest drama that's happened.
Meanwhile, Gerard sat at his little brother's house flipping through a particular photo album. He was radiating depression no shit, only the occasional half hearted longing smile spreading over his face after a particular picture or two, it's been driving his brother crazy the state he was in.
"Gee, you're breaking my heart in the progress." Mikey begged. "At least go out, find a blood bank or even a human. Just do something!" but his pleas were all useless, nothing could make Gerard budge when he got like this, he ought to know that.
Gerard knew the day was drawing unnervingly close, but his mind was set somewhere else, he couldn't concentrate on anything but him. They've never been separated for this long before and he didn't necessarily like it. He eventually did leave the house, but not to grab a bite or absorb melanin, he went out to see a friend.
"Promise me you'll take care of him out there." Whispered Gerard to the not-so-little-anymore puppy, Cerberus only wagged his tail enthusiastically in response. He was getting bigger in size no doubt, but that doesn't mean he didn't need the occasional belly rub or a fun game of fetch from time to time, and with everything that's been going on for a while now, the poor things was almost forgotten and uncared for.
So Gerard saw no harm in providing a little happiness in the dog's life, he didn't want to admit it but the hound did bring joy to the grumpy vampire as well. After all, it was the closest thing to Frank right now, it still amazed him how they resembled each other so much. From the identical eye colour, to the energetic halo they both owned.
Gerard knew he was being selfish by keeping Cerberus from Frank at this critical time, but he didn't care at the moment, he needed the therapy. But he knew the dog had to go back soon, for Frank's safety if not for anything else. Gerard leaned closer to Berry and whispered something again and the dog ran off and disappeared in the first shadow he encountered. Shadow travel, Gerard almost forgot he was able to do that now.
He allowed his feet to walk him to the training arena, it was too early in the morning for Frank to be here but it wasn't too late for the warlocks so it was the perfect time for a quick chat.
"Hey guys, how are you doing?" Gerard started awkwardly. Josh just glared daggers at him and didn't reply.
"We're fine." Tyler answered not too friendly either. They were apparently picking sides, like every other person in this pack. Team Gee was lacking serious numbers though.
"Did you, um, find anything that could maybe help with the whole... you know?" Gerard really felt awkward right now.
"Yes, we did." Tyler replied curtly. Gerard urged him with his eyes to go on, which he didn't seem too happy to do. "Just stay in your hideout when the day comes and don't make a big fuss." He eventually said, ouch.
"And... how's Frank?" his voice was barely anywhere above a whisper, he didn't even dare look them in the face.
"He's fine too, but that's none of you business anymore, remember?" Josh finally spoke pointedly. If looks could kill, Gerard would've been six feet under five minutes ago.
