Frank's P.O.V:

I was slightly taken aback by the outburst from Tyler today, I couldn't believe my ears for a good few minutes too. Gerard had never told me about this before, he barely even mentioned her name and when he did it was brief and accompanied with a warning. He never told me what he did to piss her off, but now I guess it's made clear.

I finished practice and took a quick shower, then went to check up on Cerberus. Ray said he was very responsive and was making a great progress, I was still uncomfortable with him fighting but I knew we needed all the help we could get. I took Berry back to mine and Gerard's room at the headquarters as I waited for the latter to come, which he did eventually.

"Holy shit, how the fuck?!" he gaped at Berry whose size had remarkably increased over the past two hours.

"You missed the damned spirits devouring session, it was fucking epic, and fast-effecting as well." I chuckled half heartedly.

"Yeah, seem like I did." He nodded not too cheerfully. "I went to see Mikey." He added.

"Yeah? How's he doing?" I asked casually.

"He's fine, I guess." He shrugged it off.

"Awesome." We fell in an awkward agonizing silence then.

"Frank, I guess this is where we bring up the subject." He was the first to break it. I didn't answer, just nodded encouraging him to go on. "You know when Brendon died... well when we thought he did, everybody seemed so bummed out about it and couldn't keep their head on the war, many bailed out on us and I really felt helpless. He left me a great responsibility and I couldn't fill his shoes, and I was also really angry and vengeful, I had to do something." He breathed out looking really distressed and close to tears. I took his hands in mine comfortingly.

"Hey, it's okay. Go on." I rubbed my thumb over his knuckles.

"Demon deals were a common thing back then, stupid, but common enough to cross my mind. I thought I'd give it a shot, I aimed for a really famous and well known she-demon, she had quite the reputation. She was known to be a little pricey but I didn't care back then, I was willing to do everything and anything. But that didn't turn out too well." He chuckled humorlessly. "She wanted a price I couldn't pay however hard I tried."

"You tried?" I asked frowning deeply.

"God knows I did." He nodded "But I just couldn't easily push a button and turn straight, could I?" he had dark humor in his voice. "I didn't tell her that though, I was afraid she'd say no or feel offended and decide to work against us or something, so I played along. You can figure out how that ended."

"Gerard," I sighed turning his head to face me "why haven't you told me this before?" I asked softly.

"I didn't want you to hate me, you knew that I was a bad person back then but that part was just pure sick and twisted, I couldn't bare with the thought that you might actually hate me if you knew this." He was full-on crying right now. This was breaking my heart, I embraced him comfortingly.

"You should've known better than to think this, I could never hate you Gerard, even if I told you straight in the face that I did you ought to know that I'm lying." I tried soothing him. He nodded weakly into my shoulder. We just sat there for a while kissing lazily and just cuddling the depressing atmosphere away.

"So, how was training today with Josh?" he asked after a while.

"Not so bad actually, he's saying my reflexes are improving and I think I've mastered compulsion." I replied. I was somewhat optimistic about this fight.
