Chapter Four: I guess I'll give you a bit of a 1D education

[ashley]

"Hey, Calum!" I called as I exited the car. Mum was climbing out of the drivers seat, ready to make a big fuss about Michael and I leaving on our own. I knew this was a big deal for her, but honestly, if she shed anymore tears I think she might dry up. So, to avoid her for as long as possible, I ran over to the two boys waiting for us.

"Hullo Ashley," Calum greeted with a smile, reaching for a hug. I gave him a quick hug, my excitement getting the bettter of me as I squeezed him tight. "Woah there girl! Save it for Ashton."

I pulled away from him and he winked at me as I blushed. "Shut up, Cal."

He just laughed and went to hug my mum. Luke smiled at me and I waved. It was still a bit awkward between the two of us. I just hope we can go back to normal. Ashton was nowhere in sight.

I hadn't spoken to Ashton since yesterday morning. After waking up in his shirt, I was way too embarrassed to even look at him. I kept thinking about the night before, when he held me. My cheeks flushed again as I recalled the feeling of his lips and hands. I know nothing happened, but I was beginning to wonder if he wanted something to happen between us.

"Ashley!" I heard my mum call me from by the car. I turned to face her and smiled a little at the sight of her with her arms wrapped around Michael. I walked over to them and we had a big family hug. Mum was sobbing into Mike's chest and clinging tightly to both of us. I met my brother's pleading eyes which seemed to be begging me to get her to let him go. I rolled my eyes before I smiled.

"Mum, you've gotta let him go now." I sighed, pulling lightly at her sleeve. She stood there for a moment longer before stepping away from him. "Look, we've got to hurry so we don't miss our flight."

Mum wrapped her arms tightly around me, one hand smoothing down my hair the other rubbing soothing circles on my back like she used to do when I was little.

"I'm going to miss you, baby girl." Mum mumbled into my hair. A small smile tugged at my lips as I snuggled into her shoulder.

"I'm gunna miss you too, mum." I sighed, breathing in her scent. And I really was going to miss her. "But we'll be back before you know it!"

I pulled away, pecking her cheek lightly and gripping my rucksack. She gave me one last hug and a kiss before sending us on our way.

"Bye babies! I love you!" She called after us, waving to us with a watery smile.

"Bye mum!" Michael called back with a wave.

"Love you too, mum!" I smiled back at her.

"Don't let your sister get into any trouble, Michael!" Mum suddenly yelled to my brother. We looked at each other and rolled our eyes.

"Goodbye mum!" We yelled back.

When we reached the other boys who stood inside the doors, they were all laughing at us. Ashton had rejoined Calum and Luke and they were standing in a small huddle chuckling.

"'Don't let her get into any trouble, Michael!'" Luke mimicked our mum's voice, sending me a mocking stare.

"What kind of trouble do you think she was talking about, Ashy?" Ashton mumbled softly in my ear. Whoa, when had he snuck behind me? His hot breath tickled the back of my neck, disturbing the small wisps of hair at the base. I had lazily thrown my hair up into a messy bun this morning after pulling on my favorite pair of sweatpants and my Beatles t-shirt. "You look cute this morning, sweetheart."
