*6 months later*

It was now two weeks into vacation with only one week left, I decided to spend the majority of my vacation in my parent’s beach house, seeing as my parents weren’t home for christmas or new year’s. It was away from all city buzz and people I didn’t want to see. There was only one problem, all my friends were on holiday with their family’s for the first two weeks. So alas I was alone. My parents had a private beach to go with the beach house, I was just sitting on the deck, looking out at the sea when my phone started ringing, I smiled when I saw it was Halle. “Hey boo-boo” I smiled as I answered the phone, “What’s up?” she cheered into the phone, “Just chilling on the deck, looking out at the beach. What’s up with you?” I got up and walked towards the water, stopping when it got to my ankles. “Well my rents got in a fight so we came home from vacay early so I called Josh and he is not having fun on his vacay, so please open the door, its hot and I need a swim” I sprinted inside and opened the door, tackling Halle with a hug. “What about me?” Josh faked a sad face, I rolled my eyes and pulled him in for a hug. “Ya’ll can sleep in my room. I’m in my rents room” I smiled and led them to my room, “Okay so I’m gunna go for walk on the beach, see you seen” I smiled as I ran down stairs and out onto the beach. 10 minutes into my walk, Halle texted and said I needed to come back to the house for an emergency. “Okay what is the big emergency?” I said as I walked back into the beach house. “I was on your laptop and um. Someone skyped you” she smiled pushing the laptop towards me. “Hey babe” Ashton smiled on the screen, “Ashton!” I smiled, “How are you?” I grabbed the laptop and ran up to the room, closing the door behind me. “I’m good. What about you babe?” I put the laptop down lay down on my stomach. “The boy’s and I are just at studio. We all ditched out families on holiday to work on some music” He smiled, but it soon faded. “What’s wrong?” I asked concerned. “Nothing. I just miss you, that’s all” he half smiled. “Aw, I miss you too” I smiled. “Ashton, yo, your turn” Michael yelled in the background. “But I’m talked to Alex” Ashton wined, giving Michael the puppy dog face. Michael grabbed the laptop off Ashton while Calum shoved him into the booth. “We’ll talk to her while you record” Michael smiled at him and then looked at me. “Hey girl hey” He smiled at me, causing me to laugh, “Hey girl hey” I mocked him, he rolled his eyes and flipped me off. “So how’s the beach house?” Luke smiled as he sat next to Michael. “Good, Halle and Ryan have joined me” I smiled back at him. “Hey guys where’s Ashton?” I heard Calum ask in the background, both Luke and Michael just shrugged “He went to the bathroom and he hasn’t come back. I went to look in there and he’s not in there” Calum said concerned. “Alex we gotta go” Michael ended the call before I could say anything. I sighed and walked down stairs. “Hey what’s up?” Halle half smiled as I lay down on the couch. “So during the call, Ashton had to record some stuff in the booth so I talked to Michael and Luke. While we were talking Calum came in and asked if they’d seen Ashton because he went to bathroom and didn’t come back and he wasn’t in the bathroom” I sighed, “Have you called him?” she asked, sitting up a bit, I shook my head and she chucked me my phone. I dialled his number. “Voicemail” I said as I hung up, “He’ll be alright, and I’m sure he just went and got some food or something” Halle smiled, “Yeah your right. I’m gunna go for a walk. No interruptions this time please” they both nodded as I walked out. The sun was now setting as I walked along the beach, I found bunch of rocks and sat down, letting the cool ocean breeze blow through my hair. I don’t know how long I sat there for, but when I walked back it was complete pitch black. “There you are” Halle said as I walked through the door, “What’s up?” I looked at her confused, she looked so concerned. “It’s Ashton” she said quietly, “What about Ashton?” I took a step closer to her. “The guys can’t find him. He’s not answering his phone, his car wasn’t at the studio, and he didn’t go home” She said, looking at me. “Did you check my place?” She looked at me confused, “Your place?” “He has a key. He said his misses me and he can’t come here so, my place is the next best thing” I said as I grabbed my keys. “Tell the guys I’ll find him, it’s only half an hour home. Stay here, I’ll be back tomorrow morning” I smiled as I hugged Halle and walked to my car. I hoped in my car and started the journey home. Please be there I thought to myself. The trip seemed shorter as I pulled up to my house and got out. I opened the door and walked in, I was about to call out Ashton’s name when I saw a dim light coming from my bedroom. I walked in and saw a sleeping Ashton hugging my pillow, I smiled down at him. I went back downstairs into the kitchen, turning the lights on I dialled Calum’s number. “Did you find him?” He said as soon as he picked up, “Yeah, he’s up in my room sleeping. Are you guys like done recording?” I grabbed an apple and started to munch on it. “Good! Yeah we are pretty much done, whys that?” he asked. “Well, I was thinking for the week you should come to the beach with me. Hal and Ry are already there, so you guys should join us” I smiled as I heard cheering in the back ground. “Yeah sure why not.” “Great. We leave tomorrow around lunch time. See you then, bye” I said as I hung up, I turned off the light and ran back upstairs. Ashton was mumbling something in his sleep, and he started to toss and turn. “Ashton” I said as I shook him lightly, “Ashton” I shook him again, “Ashton” I said a little louder, causing him to sit up, panting for breath. He looked around the room, stopping when he got to me. He reached out and touched my cheek, he smiled and pulled me in for a hug, tears running down his face. “I had a nightmare” he said as he nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck, “You were being kidnapped and I was trying to get to you but I couldn’t and they were hurting you and I lost you” He whispered, voice trembling. “Hey, I’m here now, it’s okay. You haven’t lost me” I smiled at him as I pulled back, I gave him a peck on the lips and went to change into pyjamas before crawling into bed next to him. “We’re going to the beach for the rest of vacay tomorrow” I whispered as he wrapped an arm around me and pulled me close, “Ryan and Halle are already there and Michael, Cal and Luke are coming with us” I shifted so I was lying on my stomach, my chin resting on his chest, he was just lying there, staring at the celling, sniffling every now and again. “Hey” I said as I tapped his chin, “Talk to me” I pushed myself up, sitting over him, one hand resting on his chest, his eyes were glassy and filled with fear. “I was so scared” he finally whispered after moments of silence, “I felt so weak and I’m so mad at myself that I couldn’t do anything” more tears had started fall down his now rosy cheeks, I whipped them away with my thumb, “It’s happened every night this month” he whispered, looking at me finally. “At first I saved you, but each night you got further and further away and I couldn’t save you after that” his eyes travelled back to the celling, “I’ve stayed here every night the last month. I told my mum I had to look after your fish” his eyes still glassy and filled with fear. “I don’t have a fish” I asked confused, “I know, but I couldn’t think of anything else” he half smiled. We sat there in silence for what seemed like forever before he sighed and looked at me. “What if one day, something like this happens and I can’t save you?” He asked, sitting up, he put his head in his hands. “Hey, hey, nothing like that is going to happen” I rubbed his back and put my chin on his shoulder, “I don’t wanna lose you” he whispered, I grabbed both his hands in mine and made him look at me. “You will never lose me Ashton Irwin. In fact, your actually stuck with me, so you better get used to it” He chuckled and kissed my nose, “So wait, because you told your mum I had a fish, do I actually have to get a fish?” I asked as we lay down again, he just chuckled and kissed the top of my head. “Nah, we’ll say it died”
