“That was the longest half an hour trip ever” I said as I walked into the beach house, followed by Ash, Luke, Cal and Mikey. “Lexi, your back” Halle cheered from the kitchen, I showed the boys their rooms, Ashton sharing with me, and let them get settled in. “Where’s the hippie?” I asked looking around, “He went for a soul relaxing walk, as he called it” Halle smiled, I just laughed and collapsed on the couch. “Hey, um. I was looking through some draws and I found these amazing drawings in a sketch book, did you draw them?” she put the sketch book down beside me, I nodded, picking it up and smiling. “I use to draw all the time, I guess, when things got bad, I stopped. I’ve been thinking of starting again, it keeps me calm” I smiled, putting in back on the table, “You should start again. You’re really amazing. Wait till Kane sees them” she cheered, I just laughed and rolled my eyes at her. Christmas/new year’s break went by so fast. And before we knew it, it was over. We were driving home, all tired out and not wanting to go back to school the next day, except for Ashton. After dropping everyone off, I made my home and slowly climbed up to bed, collapsing and falling straight to sleep, forgetting about dinner and my alarm and all the other worries in the world.
“Alexis we have to talk about this now, we have no other time.” Casey whined, “Just tell us, what it should be called” Hayley smiled at me, “A night to be Different” I smiled, they looked at me confused. “Because they can be in a different clique for the night. They can be someone different to who they really are” they both cheered and started to show me different ticket designs and poster designs. I wasn’t really paying attention to what they were saying, I was just nodding along, waiting for it to be over. “Okay, so we’ll get everything sorted, get you your two free tickets and then get this thing going” Casey smiled as she hugged me goodbye, Hayley gave me a hug and ran off with Casey to do who knows what. I sighed as I picked up my stuff and walked to my locker. “Well, well, well. Who do we have here?” I heard a voice from behind me, “Go away Sean” I spat as I slammed my locker shut, walking off. “Not so fast missy” he grabbed my wrist and spun me round, “I’m not in the mood Sean” I snatched my wrist out of his hand and began to walk off again and he followed. “Look, I just, I need your help okay” he blurted out as we got to my car, “What sort of help?” I chucked my things into the back of my car, opened the door and leaned on it, looking at him. “Well, you see, it’s about prom” he said, looking down at his feet, then back at me. I nodded for him to continue, “I was wonder if you could, um. If you could…” He stuttered out, “Spit it out Sean, I have to go” I interrupted him, “if you could help me ask out Casey” he spit out, I looked at him shocked, but then smiled. “Sean, you don’t need my help. Just be yourself, I’m sure she’ll go out with you. I have to go. Goodbye” I smiled as I got in the car and drove off. I sighed as I walked in the door, dumping my stuff in the hallway, I collapsed on the couch. I chucked on a movie, grabbed a blanket and curled up on the couch. Just as I was about to doze off, the front door opened. “Hey babe” Ashton smiled as he sat on the edge of the couch, I pause the movie and smiled at him. “Rough day?” He gave me a sympathetic look as I nodded, he nudged me to move forward and slipped in behind me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, adjusting the blanket so it was covering both of us. “What happened?” He asked as I rolled over to face him. “I got yelled at in every class for not paying attention because Casey and Hayley kept bugging me about prom. I had two tests today and I’m pretty sure I failed” I sighed, “Then I had a prom committee meeting after school which went for three hours because Casey and Hayley kept arguing over what the prom was going to be called and then to top it all off I had, Sean needed my help with asking out Casey but I told him to do it himself” I huffed. Ashton pulled me closer and kissed the top of my head, I smiled and snuggled into his chest. “You’re with me now” he said as he rested his head on top of mine. This is how our nights seemed to work, Ashton lived here most nights usually just going home in the weekends, whenever one of us would come home stressed from work we would cuddle up on the couch and just cuddle, letting the stressed person rant it out and the other listening and then pulling them closer, it always seemed to work. “You got through the first week. And now it’s the weekend, so you get two whole days with me. My rents went away for the weekend so I’m free all weekend” He softly said, “Everything’s going to be okay”
