A shiver went down my spine, the cold waking me up. I had a killer headache and when I tried to open eyes, I quickly shut them, the bright light blinding me. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, squinting, I looked around the room. Most people had gone home except for the usual. I chuckled at everyone sprawled out across the lounge, that we had somehow made our way up to from the music room. “Ow” I groaned as the thumping continued, another shiver going down my spine, I stood up and slowly made my way up stairs. I had a quick shower, chucked my hair up in a bun, chucked on some sweatpants, uggs and baggy singlet and ran down stairs. I shivered again, so I grabbed a random jersey off the floor and chucked it on. I made myself a hot chocolate, grabbed some aspirin and sat down on the couch. “Good morning” Ashton said as he walked into the room, “Morning” I half smiled. “How ya feeling?” He asked as he sat on the couch next to me, “Like I got slammed into a brick wall and then run over by a truck” Ashton chuckled as I sipped my hot chocolate. “Hey” Calum smiled as he sat next to me, “isn’t that your jersey Ash?” He asked as he pointed at the Jersey I was wearing, he smiled and nodded, “Sorry, it was the first thing I grabbed, I was cold, I’ll just get one of mine” I said as I put my cup down and went to get up, “No its fine, it looks better on you anyway” Ashton smiled as he pulled me back down, causing me to blush. “Gag” Calum scoffed, I looked at him and lightly punched him, and we all burst out laughing. “Did you guys have fun last night?” I smiled once the laughing had stopped, they both nodded. “It was really good. There were so many people here last night!” Calum said, “My favourite part was when you, Lexi, started playing dance central on the Xbox. Your dancing was so funny!” Ashton and Calum both laughed. “Yeah, I don’t remember much of last night aye” I shrugged, they both looked at me and burst out laughing again. “Shut up” Kane yelled as he threw a pillow at us, “You are so loud” Adam groaned, “Shut up nerd. Just because you never get drunk” I teased, earning a pillow to my head. Everyone soon made their way home, all except Ashton. I was sitting on the couch, hugging my knees, wrapped up in a blanket, hot chocolate in my hand, Ashton sitting at the other end, the sound of the TV filling the silence. “Alex, can we talk?” Ashton asked as he turned off the TV. “What’s up?” I put down my cup and shifted my weight to face him, leaning my legs on the back of couch. “It’s about Justin” He shifted, to face me more, “What happened between you two? if you don’t mind me asking” I looked down at my hands, taking a deep breath. “Well, he and I use to go out, obviously, and everything was perfect, or so I thought” I paused, looking up at him, he nodded for me to continue. “About 7 months into our relationship, he started to get distant and weird, I confronted him about it. I found out that he was involved in some stuff and he had to go away for a while. Turns out when he went away he cheated on me, 6 times. When I tried to leave him, he wouldn’t let me, he made me stay with him, he abused me, he had people follow me, he knew my every move, I hated him and I couldn’t do anything. Just when I was about to give up, he dumped me.” Tears streaming down my face, Ashton scooted closer and pulled me into his chest. “Hey, hey it’s okay” He whispered, hugging me tight. “I thought I was done with him, but when he showed up yesterday, I didn’t know what to do. How did he find me.” I whimpered. No other words were said, we just sat there, Ashton holding me close as I cried, occasional words of comfort being whispered.
