Chapter 5

Gabriel's POV

The next day. I got to the office earlier than expected. Starting from today, Candy will be working with me. I specifically ask for her because I want her close to me.

I was so surprised to see her at the meeting yesterday, but I didn't let it show, my inner self was screaming with joy. It was obvious that she was surprised to see me. She became nervous and stammers when introducing herself, I guess it because of what happened over the weekend. The guy she slapped and accused of sexual harassment is actually the CEO of the company she works for. Life can be funny sometimes. It was fun to see that she was nervous. My eyes were on her throughout the meeting and I think she noticed. the more I look at her, the more I fell for her.

At exactly 8:30 am. someone knocked on my door.

" Come in,"

And there she is standing in front of me. She looks calmer than yesterday and beautiful as usual. The yellow dress she wore fit her perfectly, showing all her curves, she's got a nice body. I looked up at her face. Hmmm, those lips, I can't forget them. it reminds me of the accidental kiss, I would kiss them all day if allowed. She cleared her throat and brought me back from my daydream.

"Gab, get it together" I warned myself shaking my head

" Good morning, Mr. Gabriel"

"Please drop the Mr. I feel old when you call me that. Gabriel or Gab will do" I said looking at her.

"Okay. Gab" she whispered. My name sounds nice coming from her lips.

"I personally asked for you to be my assistant, considering your good records, I thought you will be the best person to help me out till I get hold of things here," I said smiling at her.

" I will be happy to help" she replied

"Okay, talk to my Secretary and get my schedule for this week. I will like you to have it so we can work around it. If I need to change anything, I will let you know. Also, Bring me the active projects files and summarize everything about them, categorizing them from the important to the less important ones and send them to my email. If I have any questions or concerns I will let you know" I kept giving instructions.

"Will do just that" she answered

"I hope you like your new office," I asked looking at the email that just popped up on my laptop.

" Yes I do" she answered

"Well make yourself comfortable just like your former office. That will be all for now. I will be waiting for your email and files." I looked up a her

"Thank you, Candy," I said smiling at her

She started to leave my office and stopped. She looks conflicted.

"Something on your mind?" I Asked

She turned around "Ermmm.... Sir, I mean Gab, I am really sorry about the other day. I mean the incident at the get-together party" she said, looking at me.

I tilt my head with my eyebrows raised. I stand up from my chair, moved it out of the way and stopped directly in her front. I caught the scent of her perfume, she smells nice.

" It's okay, Candy. We just misunderstood ourselves. As you can see my cheek is all better now"

"Am really sorry about the slap, I cannot say I didn't mean it, cos I really meant it at that time".

"Let's just say you own me one, Candy"

"Okay, we will go with that, thanks, Gab" she was finally smiling." I just want us to work together peacefully without grudge"

"You never can tell," I answered mischievously. Her smile disappeared immediately and she frowned

"Just joking" and the smile is back " Get back to work miss"

She turned to leave my office and I chipped in

"By the way you look lovely in that dress, it fits you well, and you look better with your hair down"

She blushed and said "thanks" quickly walking out of my office.

"Nice one Gab, baby's step " satisfied with myself. I got back to work.
