Gabriels POV

I woke up with a slight headache and drowsy. Where am I, I wondered. what happened to me. I can hear voices but where is it coming from? Candy, that is her voice. I looked around, am in my room. Why is she here? who is she talking to?, different questions running through my mind. I tried to listen to what she was saying
"Jenny, I don't know what to do, am a little scared"
"I am in love with my boss. it took me to see him sick on the bed to finally admit it". oh, I smile, that's me.
"What if he hurts me" her voice sounds weak and helpless. I really want to tell her that I will never hurt her. I tried to sit up on my bed but too weak to support myself and can't stay awake. "no no no ", my mind protest and it became dark again
Candy's POV

"I think he likes me too. do you think I should give him a chance?"
"I'll say you give him a chance, if you are scared of heartbreak then you will be alone all your life. you won't know if he is for you till you give him a chance" she advice
"Okay"
"Wow, bestie, finally you met your match, he broke through your wall" Jenny jokes
"Yes, go to go now, want to check on him, I will be back home when he wakes up and okay. love you, bye"
"Bye love" she replied and I ended the call.
I check on Gabriel and he is still sound asleep. He has been sleeping for a day now. The doctor says he will wake up this evening. I placed my hand on his head and his temperature is back to normal and he is no longer looking pale. I decide to go and instruct the maid to prepare him porridge so he can eat when he wakes up.
Three hours later I was standing at the window looking at sunset when I heard my name. I quickly move to Gabriel's bed, he is fully awake.
"Hi" I smiled at him " You have been out for almost two days now. Stress, the doctor says. I guess your busy schedule since you took over the company does not work with your body system." I explained " How do you feel now"
" I am fine, how are you too. how long have you been here?"
"Since yesterday, slept on the couch tending to you. I am glad you are okay now", I sounded relieved. The maid knocked the door and bring in the porridge. I turned to Gabriel and support him to sit upright. You need to eat something so you can get your strength back"
"Thank you" Gab whispers
I took the porridge to him on the bed "Will you manage to eat yourself or you want me to feed you?" I asked smiling mischievously
" I will like you feed me" he chuckled
I took the bowl and fed him, while his eyes were on me, he looks like he has something on his mind. "You know, I will never hurt you" he declared suddenly, taking me by surprise " I heard you talking on the phone when I woke up briefly," he said
I became speechless just looking at him, I couldn't think clearly because I was too tired. We can talk about this later, I needed my bed. He finished his porridge and I gave him his medication. "Gab, I should be on my way home now, I need my bed" standing up to get my bag, Gabriel grabs my hands and I jumped slightly at his touch.
"Stay," he said "Join me in bed and get some sleep before you go home. you need it"
"But" I tried to reject him. He raised his hands to stop me. "no excuses, I won't do anything to you, am too tired to do that for now" he drew me to himself and I fell on the bed, adjusts himself for me to be comfortable, placed his hand so I could rest my head on it and then he hugged me from the back. My heart is breathing faster it could jump out of me anytime soon, and I try to calm myself down.
"Tell me, why are you afraid of relationships," he asked out of nowhere and his breath tickles the back of my neck.
" I grew up without my father. he left my mom, she cries and is sad all the time, my dad was all she had. Gave everything up for him but he never think about that when he left without turning back. Since then I have been afraid of commitment. You commit all your life to someone and then they betray you" I said with a lot of bitterness in me.
"You know your mom will tell you, she made her own decision and she paid for it. You still have your own life ahead of you, you should enjoy it. She won't be happy if she knew you are afraid of commitment to a man because of what happened to her and your dad"
"I know"
"I lost my parents at a young age in an accident, but I still learn to love life and enjoy it. You should do the same. People still get hurt and betrayed without being in a relationship you know" he advised
"Yeah, am sorry to hear about your parents"
" I will never hurt you candy, I love you so much" I smiled at his confession and drift off to sleep. I woke up early in the morning, and Gabriel is still sleeping beside me with his arms wrapped around me. I slowly remove his hand. Wrote a note on the desk
" Gone home, see you later. Make sure you take your medications and get enough rest. Cares.xx."
I placed it on the chest beside the bed, looked at him for the last time, kissed him and then when home.
