Weeks after we came back from Florida. We went back to our normal work routine. Some colleagues are already guessing the relationship between me and Gab and he never tries to hide it. He even forgets himself sometimes and shows his affection in front of everyone while I died of embarrassment. He showers me with gifts and spends time with me at home. He finds every excuse not to go home.
I called Jenny to update her about what has been happening between me and Gabriel.
"Office romance is the best". she said. This time I agreed without arguing with her.
"I love him so much, Jenny" I confessed
"Wow, easy girl" she replied and I chuckled.
"He met mom already and she likes him, he is a charmer"
"When will I meet him bestie, I should assess him too right," Jenny asked
"I will arrange for us to meet. He needs to meet you too, but please go easy on him when you do"
"Okay love, let me know when you are ready. Gotta go a little bit busy here. Hey Candy, am so happy for you" she said before ending the call.
Days later I arrange for dinner so Gab could meet my best friend, they became friends instantly. That night after we all went back home, Jenny called to tell me I caught myself a real gem and never to let go.
Weeks later, Gabriel invited me to his grandparents home to officially introduce me as his girlfriend. I was nervous. I know Rebecca likes me, and maybe she wanted me for her grandson in the first place, but that does not still make me feel better. Gab looked at me, he held my hand squeezing it to assure me all will be fine." Don't worry you will be fine, I will be with you all along". he assured me
"Okay," I answered silently.
We got there and I was welcomed with opened arms. Rebecca was so happy and screamed with joy when Gab introduced me as his girlfriend.
"My prayer as been answered" she exclaimed. I laughed as she danced adorably around in the living room. She is a doll. "I knew my baby will fall in love with you when he meets you" She turned to her grandson and said
"Sweetheart you've got yourself a real gem here" she hugged me.
Mr. Smith seems happy at the news "I'm happy for you son" he said looking at Gabriel "You are welcome to the family Candy. Come here and give me a hug" He stood up and hugged me patting my back.
Rebecca asked questions about myself and family after we all settled down in the living room. " My mom stays in Florida and runs a flower shop. I am the only child of my parent" I replied.
"Great, why don't you invite your mom here someday. I wish to meet her."
Why will she meet my mom I wondered, it's not like I am getting married to her grandson? I couldn't refuse her request because he kept asking me to invite her. "Okay, I will ask her and see what she thinks about visiting" I replied.
"So you do love my grandson right," she asked looking at me intensely. Why does she do this to me, asking me questions out of the blue?
"Yes," I shyly replied. Oh my God, she is just too straight forward.
"So tell me, what is the next step, are you giving me a great-grandchild before your wedding or after, if after when is the wedding?" she asked with a serious face looking me and Gabriel.
Lord, she did it again. Shocked at what she said we all shouted "WHAT?"
I almost choked on my drink and I started to cough, Gab rubs my back to calm me. "Why is she doing this to me again" I grumbled. I looked at Gab for help and he was grinning. I felt like slapping the grin off his face.
"Darling, why don't you give Candy a break, she almost choked on her wine, " Mr. Smith sai, "Candy are you okay?"
"Yes" I replied
"Am sorry Candy," she said "but I just can't help it.
"Grandma, I love to give you a great-grandchild but you have to wait till we are ready." Gab replied "Or we could have one now, what do you say Candy" he turned to me smiling mischievously. I gave him a warning look and he stopped.
"One step at a time Rebecca," I said
"You children better make up your minds and let me know, I don't want to wait any longer than this," Rebecca warns.
"Okay, Grandma" Gab answered.
Mr. Smith quickly changed the topic, I looked towards him and he smiles. I take a deep breath, he is a life saver. Rebecca will be the death of me. I thought smiling to myself.
We spent the rest of the day having fun and chatting. Rebecca persuaded me to stay over for the weekend and I agreed. I swear it is hard to refuse her when she wants something.
"Sweety, you will be sleeping in Gabriel's room for the weekend" she announced smiling at me.
Why will I be sleeping in Gabriel's room when there are many extra rooms here. I looked at her puzzled. Since she talked about having a grandchild, I have been a little bit nervous around Gabriel. I know what this woman is thinking. "burgers" I signed.
"What is the matter Candy? you look pale all of a sudden" She asked looking as if she has done nothing wrong.
"Nothing" I replied
"Okay then, goodnight love. Honey lets go to bed, it's late already"
"Good night children," Mr. Smith said leaving his chair.
"Good night", I and Gabriel answered. Rebecca left the room with her husband, not without noticing her giving Gabriel THE EYE.
We left to go to our bedroom to sleep but I was conscious of myself around Gab, not that we haven't slept together before, but my imagination is beginning to run wild because of Rebecca, I kept thinking that if anything happens now, I might become pregnant, and I can't stop thinking about it.
When we go to the room, Gabriel locked the door, I stared at him nervously and he walked towards me with a naughty smile on his face. I backed away from him as he gets closer.
"Gab, don't even think about it. I saw Rebecca give you the eye. she planned this"
"I know, we might as well do it according to her plan"
"No" pushing him back. but he came closer. I pray he stops because I might not be able to refuse him for long.
"Sweetheart, we love each other we can just have a baby" he moved in with his hands blocking me from escaping and then he kissed my shoulder and my body became tensed and aroused at the same time. He suddenly started laughing and released me. I became embarrassed and couldn't look at him in the face. Gab lift my chin up with his index finger to look at him.
"Candy, calm down. We won't have kids until we are ready okay. I was just teasing you" I suddenly breathe out, I just noticed that I have been holding my breath all along. He hugged me. "My grandma is one hell of a woman, sorry about that"
"Yes she is" I whispered
"Now go and have a shower and we can rest for the day," he said holding my face in his hands and was rubbing my lips with his thumb.
"I'm happy they loved and accepted you. I love you Candy" he confessed, giving me a deep kiss and I couldn't help moaning.
" I love you too"
I showered and changed to one of Gabriel's shirt to sleep. That night I slept like a baby in Gabriel's arms.
