Rapmon: Bill Nye is actually an engineer-

Jhope: wait isn't Bill Nye a scientist tho?

Rapmon: no he's an engineer-

Jhope: no he's a scientist who started his career as an engineer  then quit to pursue comedy and camera.  That led him to star in "ALMOST ALIVE! " and on that he started doing what Wikipedia calls "wacky" experiments. Then people started calling him a scientist so he got his own show called "Bill Nye the science guy" but then they stopped airing in the late 1990s.  Then they started "Bill Nye saves the world" this year but he's still a scientist cause he's written a couple of books on his scientific theories and he helped create sun dials for the Mars Rover.
