Chapter 12

Hayes P.O.V.
After a few minutes Kehlani fell asleep. As I go to sleep, I hear a noise to my left. As I turned I saw a nurse come in. I gestured to her to be quiet not wanting to wake Kehlani up. She then came to me and told me that there was someone here to see Kehlani. I decided it would be best to just see who it is and take a message for her since she was sleeping. She has had a very stressful day she needed all the sleep she could get. I slowly made my way into the hall.The nurse asked me if I wanted a wheelchair but I was determined to get there without any help. After a good two or three minutes I finally approached the waiting room. I got there to see a man dressed in a tight white shirt and some jeans. He had his hair done like Nash's. He was very buff. I suddenly got scared.
"Hi, are you here to see Kehlani" I said
"Yeah, my name is Ray...Ray Diaz I'm her ex boyfriend"He said
"Oh, I'm Hayes Grier I'm her current boyfriend"I said
"Well, I heard that Aiden was in the hospital and I just wanted to make sure he was ok" He said
"Yea, he got a few scratches" I said
"Oh what happened?" He asked
"We we're going to my brothers house while Kehlani was at work and a drunk driver hit us, luckily I was able to stop the shattered glass from hitting Aiden by letting it hit me." I said explaining what happened
He seemed like a pretty good guy. Obviously you can also see that he cares deeply for both of them.
"Wow dude you must be like his hero"He said patting me on the back
"Yeah" I said and smiled
"Rayyy!!" I heard a little boy scream from behind.
"Oh hey dude, I've missed ya" He said
"I've missed you too" Aiden said back
Deep down for some reason I feel very hurt I don't know why but I just do.
"Guess what?" Aiden said
"What?"Ray said
"This is my dad"Aiden said with excitement and joy
"Really, I didn't know that"Ray said with a surprised face.
"Guess what" Ray said
"What?"Aiden said
"I bought something for you"Ray said pulling something out of the bag behind him
I looked at ray pulling out the toy from his bag to give Aiden
"OH MY GOD IS THAT A CAPTAIN AMERICA SHIELD" Aiden screamed
"Yea buddy I knew how much you loved the avengers and if I didn't get this for you I would of just regretted it" Ray said laughing
"THANK YOU SO MUCH"Aiden said
"Thank you!"I said to Ray
"Oh no problem, just wanna make the little man happy" Ray said giving Aiden a hug
Kehlani P.O.V.
I woke up to see Hayes out of the bed. I suddenly started to panic. One of the nurses were in the room so I asked them if they knew where he was. I found out that someone was here to see me and he had went to go meet them. I decided that Hayes and that person can wait for the moment the best thing was to find Aiden and make sure he was ok. I went back to the room to find a little postcard from Nash saying he and Aiden had went down for Starbucks and will be back anytime soon. Knowing that he was with Nash made me feel a little better so I went to see who had came. I walked out to find Hayes sitting on the chair talking to a very familiar face.
"Ray?" I said
"Kehlani, it's so great to see you again" he said
"Hey mommy!" Aiden said from the side
"Hey babe, I thought you were with Nash?" I said
"I was and when I saw daddy and ray I asked if I can go by them and he said sure" Aiden said
"Oh so where's Nash?" I asked
"He's ordering Starbucks for us" Aiden answered back
"Ok" I said and I turned to see Nash wave at me with a smile so I smiled back
"So babe how are you feeling?" I said
"Alot better" Hayes said
" You know you could of just woken me up right you had literally just gotten out of surgery why did you think you were able to walk on your own" I said a little frustrated
"Kehlani I don't want to be treated like a baby, I'm a man I can handle a little pressure and you've been working so hard lately that you needed that nap" Hayes said angrily
"Alright, but if your stitches burst just expect an I told you so" I said
"Ok" he said laughing
"So Ray how have you been" I said
"Better than ever until I hear my man Aiden was in the hospital" Ray said
"How did you find out?" I asked politely
"You never changed his emergency contact, I'm still on the list apparently. Which I don't mind by the way"he said
"Oh yeah I forgot about that I gotta get Hayes and the boys on that too"I said
"You don't mind if I leave you on there right just in case none of us can get in contact" I asked
"Not a problem"Ray said
"Mommy look what Ray got me" Aiden said
I looked to see a Captain America shield
"Oh my god thank you so much Ray" I said giving him a hug
"Not a prob-""Ok so who wants what I have a caramel frappe, a vanilla bean frappe, two cinnamon dolce latte, and an iced coconut milk mocha macchiato." Nash said interrupting Ray
"Kehlani and I will have the Cinnamon Dolce Latte" he looked at me and smile
"Ok here you go" Nash said handing it to us
"I'll take the vanilla bean"Aiden said
"Here you go" Nash said
"And what about you man,which one do you want" Nash said
"Nah it ok dude I feel bad" Ray said politely pushing the drinks away
"Ah come on man if you don't take one you're gonna make me feel bad and cry" Nash said fake crying
"Alright no one needs to see a man cry so I'll take which ever one you leave back"Ray said laughing
"Man here you go" Hayes said politely taking out the Iced Coconut Mile Mocha Macchiato and handing it to Ray laughing.
"Problem solved right Nash"Hayes said laughing
"Yup tbh I've tried all these flavors and they taste so good, so I didn't care on what I got" Nash said laughing
