chapter X - now or never

      As late morning turned to early afternoon Kylie found herself dozing off. With going to sleep so late it left her feeling exhausted. Yawning she fought to keep her eyes open, but then Julian turned the radio on where a song by one of her favorite artist filled her ears.
    She quickly perked up with a smile as she began to follow along to the lyrics without a care that Julian was right there in that old Chevy listening,
     "I don't wanna fight right now

     Know I need you 'round with me
     But nobody waitin' 'round with me
    Been through the ups
    Yeah the ups and the downs with me

    Kylie sang to every word perfectly. Her voice a melody like the artist's. Julian listened to her as she continued to sing along to the song playing on the radio with an uncontrolled smile. She sang to the song like she knew exactly the emotions there was behind each word.
    She gave him a glance smiling awkwardly as he caught her eyes. She laughed softly under her breath trying not to mess herself up.
     "Baby gon' love me now, now, now now, now, now
     Now or never, hey, hey, hey
     I want you to hold me down, down, down, down, down, down
     Down forever, hey, hey, hey
     Said you know I wanna keep you around
     'Round forever, hey, hey, hey
     I want you to love me now, now, now, now, now, now
     Now or never"
     The song came to an end with Kylie smiling from ear to ear like the Cheshire cat. As the next song came on she looked down at her hands, twiddling her thumbs as a distraction. Fearing Julian's words to her singing for the only people to have heard her sing is Mary and her mother.
    "Now explain to me why you hide such a beautiful voice?" His words caught her off guard leaving her to look at him like a deer caught in headlights, "I'm serious."
     His smile and awkward laugh just made the look of disbelief on her face melt away into a soothing relaxed smile, "It's a secret."

It's been awhile since I've posted a chapter so this one was rushed and may have mistakes. Okay what am I kidding it probavly does. (Don't judge me smh)
