The moment the door shut Kylie noticed her heart was racing. Just the notice of it made her cheeks warm up, but the look on Mary's face caused her to go red as a cherry. She already knew of the questions that were about to spill from those strawberry glossed lips.
"Was that who I think is was dropping you off?" she inquired.
"Um, depends?"
"It was!" Mary's sudden loudness made Kylie groan as it got her brother's attention from the kitchen.
"Yo what's going on here you two?" and of course the tall and handsome older brother of Mary Eastwood came to investigate.
Mary gave Kylie a smirk before turning to her brother, "Oh nothing besides that the art teacher, Mr. Monroe, just dropped Kylie off."
She could have sworn Nathanael would have his mouth gapping at her but he just put a spoonful of cereal into her mouth luckily, but he spoke despite that, "No way?"
Kylie groaned in frustration throwing her hands up in defense at the siblings, "Look it wasn't anything like the two of you are thinking it was."
"Bullshit!" both Nathan and Mary said.
Hands dropping to her side in now defeat she let out a sigh, "I hate you two."
"Sure, and we hate you too," Mary told her as she linked their arms together, "Now explain the whole story to us and I mean every detail."
And so Kylie did. They sat there in the living room as she told them everything leaving out only the part of her father hitting her. Mary knew about the things that happened but not her brother and she wanted to keep it that way. Nathan looked at her like he did his own sister. She could only imagine what he do if he knew.
