They drove for hours. There was never a real destination in mind with Julian. He just thought it be better than staying inside his apartment all day and to get to know this beautiful senior with skin a soft medium tone freckled all over her cheeks and nose, her shoulders that peeked out from that beige sweater two sizes too big on her.
His eyes watched Kylie with chestnut curls full of volume and nothing but a cute mess. She was smiling and laughing because she was talking about the time her friend and her did some crazy dare. The sun reflecting off her chocolate brown eyes warming them to a soft sweetness. A face completely natural that made the goodies expressions as her hands just went everywhere.
"Okay look, in the end we did jump into the creek with no clothes but not for five minutes because there was a damn snake out there and my naked ass was not about to get bitten," she just laughed as she fell back into the seat.
Her eyes looked to him with a grin on those pouty blushed lips. She was trying to not laugh anymore but it was becoming challenging for her to do so. Then she asked, "So there was never a destination in mind was there?"
Julian gave her a sly smirk and chuckled, "You caught me. I thought it was better to drive around than stay in the apartment."
Kylie rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. Glancing at the time on her phone she realized there was still that unread text message. Opening it she seen it was Mary asking if she wanted to stay the night. Relief flooded over her because thus meant she didn't have to go back home to her dad.
"Hey, you don't have to take me home. Mary asked me to spend the night so I can show you the way to her house," she told him with a smile that was gentle and innocent.
Julian even was relieved to hear this. He was didn't know how he could bring himself to take her back to her home while her father was still there. He be worried all night over it.
With a sigh of relief he asked, "So direct the way Ms. Rose."
She laughed at the formality of him asking for the directions. With a shake of her head she began to point him the way to Mary's home or well her brother's house. She always stayed at her brothers on Saturday's to avoid church Sunday with her parents. Of course Kylie was normally invited over too.
As Julian pulled over in front of the house she unbuckled the seat belt but hesitated to open the door. Looking over to him she smiled, "Thank you."
Before he was able to respond she was out of the old Chevy and to the front door where Mary already opened the door to let her in. Kylie took one last glance to him before slipping inside to disappear from his sight.
