There she stood in front of his classroom door. Heart pounding in her chest like it would burst any second out of her chest. She could feel the nervousness in her veins as she bit her lip. It made no sense to her why she was nervous, but yet since that night he held her in his arms so securely her mind has been a blur.
Since the night he fell asleep with her in his bed so she wouldn't feel alone. She knew what this surfaced nervousness was now that she would be seeing him alone.
Taking a deep breath she opened the door and walked inside, "You wanted to see me?"
He was sitting at his desk kicked back on his chair focused on his phone. The moment he heard her voice those dark oceanic eyes looked straight at her causing her to catch her breath. He smiled at her, putting his phone down on his desk.
"Yes, yes I did Kylie," he took the black rimmed glasses he wore off and set them aside.
"Well, what exactly did you want to see me for?" she questioned him, fumbling nervously with her hands.
"I've been worried about you," he said it so clearly with such a worried expression that Kylie felt her heart could have stopped forever on that moment.
    "Why?"
He looked away for a moment before getting up and walking over to her, "You know why."
He stood close to her making her drop those chocolate eyes to the floor. She was silent. How could she respond to that?
"Kylie, I don't want you to be getting hurt anymore," His words was enough to force her eyes back up to his eyes.
"Mr. Monroe there's nothing I can do to prevent me from getting hurt by him," her words sounded as weak as she felt making that statement.
"And what if there is?" the question took her completely off guard.
"How? I have no where to go," her voice cracked as she spoke.
Julian took a step closer to her. He seemed hesitant as if he was trying to choose his words carefully, "When do you turn eighteen?"
"December 15th," she was confused by the question he asked but his response made sense of it.
"I promise I'll figure something out for you," His words sounded so sincere that she felt relief rush over her body.
Without thinking she stepped over to Julian getting on her toes to wrap her arms around his neck, "I'll be forever grateful to you Julian."
Her words sent his heart high into the heavens. He wrapped his arms around her protectively. Holding her like her life depended on it. He knew now he had to get her away from there by any means.
