It had been almost a week since Julian gave Kylie a place to stay from the rain and her father's wrath. It was Thursday and a pep rally was scheduled today for the next week work ahead for the school's annual haunted house. It was being held in the gym as usual so as Kylie made her way there her eyes frantically looked for her friend Mary. Then a hand gently touched her shoulder causing her to jump nearly out of her skin.
"I didn't mean to scare you," she whirled around quickly to look up and meet the oceanic eyes of Julian.
"Mr. Monroe," her voice barely came out of her throat, "Hey."
"Don't worry I'm not sticking around for long you just seemed like you were lost," he gave her a reassuring smile that made her relax more than she wished it had.
"Not lost, I'm just looking for Mary is all," she sheepishly smiled in return to him.
Julian stood straight, looking around the gym, "She's over there, seems like she is looking for you as well."
Kylie looked in the direction he was pointing to and smiled instantly, "Thank you!"
Julian watched her walk over to the side of the gym to her friend. A small smile tugging at his lips till another teacher grabbed his attention, "Coming Mr. Monroe?" questioned Coach Miles.
"Yeah," he responded.
Kylie dropped down next to her best friend who glared at her, "God you took forever."
She rolled her eyes in response, "I did not, I just couldn't find your skinny ass."
Mary took a sharp and dramatic breath, "I do not have a skinny ass!"
They both just laughed at her overly dramatic ways.
